Where do I even begin? I have been to Cuba 10 times and this is by far my favourite resort. From the rooms, the service, the beach and the food… I would give this resort a 10 if I could! I want to give a special shoutout to the following staff members who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Lazaro at the Red Bar : If you want to see someone who is always smiling from ear to ear - he is your guy, his smile is contagious !!! From the moment we met Lazaro, we could tell how dedicated he is to providing the best service to his customers and how much he loves his job. Lazaro’s energy and dedication to his craft are apparent in everything he does. He’s attentive, personable, and makes you feel like you're the most important person in the room. Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, you can count on him to provide outstanding service. Truly a standout in the hospitality world—his passion and positive attitude make every visit to the Red Bar an absolute delight! Pedro from RUMBA buffet : Truly made our experience unforgettable with his exceptional service. Not only did he provide top-notch service, but he also went above and beyond by teaching my boyfriend how to make a napkin rose to surprise me, and even showed him how to create a ring out of a dollar bill! It's those thoughtful little touches that really set Pedro apart. His warmth, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile made our time at RUMBA extra special. If you're lucky enough to have him serving you, you're in for a treat! Boris from RUMBA buffet: Is friendly and provided excellent service, but his sense of humor stood out. He joked around with us and made us laugh, adding a fun and lighthearted vibe to our meal. It’s always a pleasure when a server not only takes care of you but also makes the experience more enjoyable with their personality. Boris definitely made our visit more memorable with his humor! Yasselin our maid : Made our stay absolutely wonderful! Every day, she kept our room not just clean but picture-perfect, and we always looked forward to seeing what creative design she’d left on the bed that day. It was such a nice touch after a day spent by the beach. Beyond just maintaining the room, Yasselin made sure we had everything we needed, always checking in to make sure we were comfortable. When we mentioned our plans to return and get an ocean view room next time, she went out of her way to show us one of the vacant rooms, giving us a sneak peek of what to expect. Her kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made our stay even more memorable! Josue at the Red Bar: is the definition of professionalism with a personal touch. Not only does he deliver top-notch service, but he also goes the extra mile to connect with guests. He even tried to help me with my Spanish, which was a thoughtful and fun gesture! Josue’s easy-going nature and attention to detail make him stand out. He ensures you feel welcomed and well taken care of. If you’re at the Red Bar, you’re in great hands with Josue!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at International Hotel, and I can confidently say it was one the best hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment I stepped into the beautifully designed lobby, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the staff, setting the tone for the rest of my stay. The room was immaculate, spacious, and elegantly furnished, with a stunning view that made every morning a delight. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the room, from the plush bedding to the well-stocked minibar. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the welcome note and complimentary treats. The hotel's amenities are top-notch. The pool area is a serene oasis, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the city. The on-site spa offers a range of treatments that left me feeling completely rejuvenated. Dining at Criollo, Hacienda and Sasa were an experience in itself—each dish was a masterpiece, combining fresh, local ingredients with innovative culinary techniques. Whether you're in town for business or leisure, you'll find everything you need within a short distance. Overall, my stay at International Hotel was nothing short of perfect. It's clear that the team here takes immense pride in delivering an outstanding guest experience. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious, family friendly and memorable stay. I can’t wait to return! A special recognition to Yariel in the Nautical Point (the water sport area at the beach). That was my favorite part of the hotel: swimming with fish and the catamaran ride. He made the experience magic and unforgettable. Thanksss Yariel!!! Great customer service, very insightful and welcoming all the time. He spoke English and remained very informative throughout the trip. I looooved it!!! I'll be coming back soon!!!

Great resort if you love the beach ! Felix ( animation team) , Amanda , Ernesto (blue bar ) and Kevin (beach bar) were all so wonderful. Each of these people helped make my trip more enjoyable. I enjoy being busy on vacation and the animation team made sure I was always having fun. In particular Felix was amazing !!! Felix was always full of energy and enthusiasm when leading aqua gym, stretching, dancing and trivia in the pool. Felix was kind,caring and so much fun he helped make my trip to Cuba one I will never forget !!!! The beach is also insanely beautiful, the pools are nice too. While the rumours about the food in Cuba may have been true not all hotels have enough food, we were lucky to have food every day. There was little variety for drinks this again is understandable. A bright point when it came to drinks was the bartenders at the Blue bar and at the beach bar. Amanda and Ernesto (blue bar) were amazing, so kind and they made great drinks. Kevin at the beach bar was also great. Each of these bartender went above and to make each drink perfect! Rooms were clean, some shortages with towels, soap , toilet paper but if you come prepared you should have no problems. Safety was never a concern for my mom and I. We were a little worried going into the trip being two women in a different country but we felt very safe on the resort. We also walked to the shopping on 62nd street which was just a 10 minute walk from the hotel and we did not feel unsafe at any point during the day. Everyone is very friendly and kind.

У нас было 2 брони по 7 дней, между бронями была неделя (путешествовали по острову). Начнем с того, что когда вы приезжаете, вас никто не встречает (отель огромный, персонал утомленный, на ресепшене неприветливые уставшие девушки). Ну да ладно. Тащим багаж в номер, номер встречает рассохшейся мебелью, убитой сантехникой, грязным полом и грязным постельным бельем! Особое внимание хочется уделить наволочкам! Я не знаю, что они с ними делают, но наволочки все в лучшем случае грязно-жёлтые, в худшем (как у нас) в непонятных пятнах. Просим заменить, стафф разводит руками и говорит, что наволочки все такого цвета (будто тебе на подушку надели кусок ветоши из бабушкиного сундука - состояние, цвет и запах соответствующие). Первую ночь спали, постелив свои футболки на подушки, потом просили горничную обернуть их чистыми простынями, чтобы было не так неприятно. Полотенца для душа периодически оставляли такие грязные, с пятнами всех мастей, что, получая +-чистые, мы радовались как дети и старались не менять их подольше. Пляжные полотенца поменять тоже целая проблема, в клаб хаусе, где это делают, их всегда либо ЕЩЕ нет, либо УЖЕ нет. В целом все недочеты меркнут по сравнению с другой проблемой. С чем невозможно смириться в этом отеле - это ТАРАКАНЫ! Это просто мрак! Особенно в зоне еды! Тараканы есть В КАЖДОМ ресторане, где мы были. В основных рестах они ползают по стенам и по хлебу (это то, что видели лично мы). Поход в типа японский а-ля карт закончился, не начавшись, тем, что когда мы пришли и сели, через весь стол (столы там квадратом сразу для 9-10 гостей, тк повар готовит при вас) пополз здоровый таракан, по салфеткам и приборам гостей. Естественно весь наш стол снялся и вышел оттуда. Со многим, повторюсь, можно тут смириться, но с тараканами в зоне еды ??? В 5* отеле за 300$ за ночь?? Почему руководство сети Мелиа ничего с этим не делает??! Просто стыд и позор! Нам повезло, что мы жили на 6 этаже, и в номере они не были замечены. Подозреваю, что гостям первых этажей повезло сильно меньше. На вторую неделю отдыха в этом отеле (мы не мазохисты, просто все было забронено заранее) решили сделать повышение до левела, наивно надеясь на хоть какие-то ощутимые бонусы. В чем принципиальное отличие и за что ты доплачиваешь 80$ за человека за ночь(!) мы так и не поняли. Это пустая трата денег. Расписывать не буду, иначе отзыв никогда не закончится)) Последние 4 дня отдыха каждый день нас ждал новый геморрой в виде сломанных кондеев, размагнитившихся карточек, разрядившихся дверных замков, сломанных унитазов и пр. и пр. И по паре часов в день мы вынуждены были тратить на хождения между номером и ресепшеном левела (отель огромный и мы жили на противоположном от ресепшена конце), пытаясь добиться решения очередной нашей проблемы, и при этом смотреть на отсутствующие лица менеджеров, некоторые из которых даже не пытались скрывать свое раздражение. За наше путешествие по Кубе мы жили еще в двух отелях сети Мелиа - в Тринидаде (trinidad peninsula) и в Гаване (cathedral). С удивлением обнаружили, что отели на Кубе могут быть чистыми, ухоженными и прекрасными во всех смыслах, повара умеют приготовить блины и пожарить бекон, а ресепшен может быть любезен и приветлив! Melia принимает в этом отеле такое количество гостей, которое физически не может принять без потери качества обслуживания. А иметь с этого отеля много денег, судя по всему, очень хочет. И весь отдых, постоянно сталкиваясь с какими-то проблемами, чувствуешь себя обманутым, потому что за 300$ за ночь - это, мягко говоря, не то, чего ты ожидаешь, даже со всеми скидками из серии «это Куба». Будем объективны и добавим плюсы: часто бывает вкусное манго и папайя, пару раз за 2 недели был хамон, океан бесподобен (тут, правда, нет заслуги мелиа), единичные официант-ы/ки, горничные и бармены очень милы и приветливы, жаль их меньшинство. Остальным (в особенности девушкам с ресепшена левела) хочется пожелать съездить в Melia Trinidad peninsula для обмена опытом. На фото в т.ч. блюда из ресторана аля карт, который работает специально для левела. Без комментариев.

Currently staying here at this hotel from Canada. Beautiful hotel and beach, but not great cleanliness…. The very first night I checked into my room I found three cockroaches in my bathroom. I went to change rooms because of this and the front desk raised and rolled her eyebrows at me.. This place is verrrry infested with cockroaches, and baby cockroaches in crawling in hallways, lobby bars, snack bars and buffets, I have watched several crawl into peoples rooms while passing by 🤨. (although these bugs are common in this region, just a thought if you don’t want to bring any cockroaches home with you!!!) Towels smell of cigarettes, sheets are stained. My partner is currently experiencing food poisoning from eating here at the hotel. He has been unable to enjoy the remaining days of our vacation. We currently do not trust to eat any food at the resort!!! Very confused with the reviews left from this resort? Although the property is beautiful and once had potential it is definitely getting run down and it is very dirty….. Some staff are wonderful and friendly 🥰 but some are not welcoming at all. The part I have enjoyed about resort is the beach and only the beach… Just food for thought if you plan on staying here. Definitely other resorts in Varadero that are better and worth your money, I will NOT be returning 😊

I was so disappointed. the reviews are so good so I’m really confused as to what happened when we went. - Let’s start with my request for the cleaners to come after we found a cockroach in the room…. She never came. - I had requested a jug of water for my baby’s formula since they said it was an option instead of using multiple water bottles. That never came. - Then we went to the buffet and that’s where I had had enough. It started with mold in the honey and then got worse. There was a cockroach on the bread stand, wondering around. Then there was another cockroach on the floor by our table. - After 3 cockroaches in one day, we checked out after just one night. - Other con: - [ ] The towels were dirty and ripped. Pros: - Amazing beach, probably the best I’ve ever been to. VERY CLEAN. - The people- everyone was so friendly the bar tenders, waiters. - If there were only cockroaches in the room, I understand it could have been from a prior guest. But to see 2 cockroaches in the buffet area meant I was more likely to get food sick and it also made me question what was going on in the kitchen in the back. Not to mention, no one seemed to care about them. - I didn’t manage to take pictures at the buffet but here is the one in the room.
