Sakura — Restaurant in Cárdenas

Unlike some other reviews i read beforehand, we had a great experience here. We came from a recommendation of a few other people on our resort and didn't go in with huge expectations. The menu was limited (you are in Cuba after all) and not in English but we knew what lobster was. We had 2 lobster plates (the last 2 and then they took it off the menu) and then ordered what we thought was a side of fries, but turned out to be a lobster fried rice (obviously our Spanish needs some work). The portions were generous, the lobster tail massive, and we topped it off with a bottle of cab sav. For 3 plates and a bottle of wine it was 2900 pesos ($30 Cad) The waiter was amazing friendly and the restaurant was clean. Food was prompt and tasty. Of course it wasn't authentic Asian food, but it was good food. Again, we are in Cuba. Give it a try, and just get there early before the items start...

Terrible, terrible food and service.

The waitress assured us that they could make the special fried rice vegetarian by leaving out the meat and giving us extra vegetables. We received just boiled rice with a few chives on top and a tiny portion size - we asked if there would be a reduction in price as it was much smaller than the listed size and were told no. We then found several small rocks/gravel in the rice and when we told the waitress she just said she'd let the chef know (didn't offer to take it off the bill even though it was inedible). She was then incredibly rude to us.

We also got two cocktails, one was fine but the mojito had several insects in as they clearly didn't...

Auf dem ersten Blick denkt man das Restaurant sei gut, doch der erste Eindruck täuscht. Wir haben Nudeln mit Gemüse bestellt und irgendeine komische Brühe mit nicht mal, wie bestellt, normalen Nudeln sondern Glasnudeln bekommen. Und das waren so wenige, dass sie nicht mal sichtbar waren oder man sie in irgendeiner Weise schmecken konnte. Das Gemüse hat leider auch nur nach Brühe geschmeckt. Essen= Katastrophe Wir haben auch vorher noch extra gefragt, ob die Portionen groß genug seien und der Kellner versicherte uns, dass das der Fall ist aber im Endeffekt waren sie so klein, dass wir tatsächlich in ein anderes Restaurant gegangen sind. Aber bevor wir überhaupt die Gelegenheit bekamen zu probieren, hat der Kellner uns das Essen weggenommen, nachdem er es uns schon hingestellt hatte, weil er nicht sicher war, ob das wirklich unser Essen war… Wir haben zudem einen Mangosaft (gekauft und nicht frisch wie normalerweise üblich in Cuba) und einen Mojito bestellt und anstatt nochmal rauszukommen und zu sagen wir haben keinen Mojito und eine Alternative vorzuschlagen, wurd einfach ein zweiter Saft gebracht. Als wir dann stattdessen Wasser bestellt haben, hat der Kellner 10 Minuten auf sich warten lassen. Auch für die Rechnung wurde sich sehr lang Zeit gelassen. Übrigens ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis furchtbar! Der Kellner war trotz mehrere Fauxpas noch sehr nett aber im Großen und Ganzen kann ich das Restaurant leider absolut...
