This is not worth the visit. This review only got two stars for most of the drive to this location. The closer you get, the worse the road gets. Please, if you are of age, have young kids or a disability do not even attempt to go here. I hired a family hatchback and was fearful it was getting returned destroyed. We had to leave the car and descend down a very steep, uneven path. It first took us to a very small pool with some greenery and rocks with water barely dripping off them. We then tried to manoeuvre the path, sign posted for the waterfall. We had the kids, my ten year old son was scared going down the path, and my wife, who is disabled really, really struggled to walk up and down the step, oversized steps. A young couple took off in front of us and then passed us on the way back. We asked what their experience was further on. They were so disappointed and showed us their pics. The path eventually gets even worse, with no handrails to aid the walk. The waterfall is again some slight water running down a rock face with no place to actually get into the water. We decided after speaking to the young couple to turn back and tackle the horrific path leading upwards towards the car. The site "may" be better in the winter with more rain around making the waterfalls a bit more vibrant, but it won't change the assault course and extremely bad road leading to the location. In my opinion, it's a definite no-go area, and people should be made aware it is a...

Top hiking trail worth travelling to. Perfect for summer as it is fully shaded alongside a small icy cold river flowing all year. Very well signed, impressively equipped (bridges, anti-slip, stairs, railings, benches) and well maintained (bins, staff picking litter). Plenty of tree varieties, some unusual. Fantastic soundscape, crystal clear water, several waterfalls, trouts. Only annoyance are the many flies, usually in sunny spots. I recommend starting from the bottom as you can park at the restaurant, go up while cooler. Without stopping good walkers could do it in hour each way, but that's the kind of walk you want to savour slowly. At the top, if you fancy an extension take the path to Makria Kontaria, though it is quite exposed. Bring your swimsuit if you fancy the full waterfall experience. Before you head back home, if you fancy a good coffee stop at Le Marquis in Platres, or at To Maxazaki if you also want some great (but expensive) cakes, and opposite is a chocolate shop...

I recently had the chance to visit a fascinating waterfall in the mountains, the Calcedonia waterfall. It was an absolutely breathtaking experience. The setting of the waterfall, nestled in the beautiful mountain scenery, was absolutely stunning, and the sound of the rushing water was soothing and calming.

The waterfall itself was a sight to behold, with the water cascading down a rocky cliff face in a series of cascades and pools. The power and beauty of the falls was truly awe-inspiring, and it was hard to tear my gaze away.

In addition to the stunning scenery, the surroundings of the waterfall were equally beautiful. The surrounding forest was lush and verdant, with a variety of plant and animal life that added to the natural beauty of the area.

Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the fascinating Calcedonia waterfall to anyone looking to experience the beauty of nature in a breathtaking setting. It truly was a unique and...

Caledonia is a natural trail just north of Platres village, Limassol. I recommend starting from the south entrance (Psilo Dentro) and walking your way up to the waterfalls. This is about 1.5 Km long, mostly uphill but not too steep. The path is not easy but certainly not difficult for experienced hikers. Just make sure to wear proper shoes like running shoes or even better trail shoes. Even though the main waterfalls (perhaps 7m high) is the main highlight, you will really enjoy the full trail too. It's quite picturesque with small wooden bridges crossing the river in many occasions. Also, there are many naturally formed ponds, and if you look carefully you will see some fish too. The path is relatively narrow so it's better to avoid the crowds. Aim to visit on a weekday and even better off season. Note that the river runs non-stop all year round (except in severe droughts).
