Nice little hotel. Food was exceptional. Music from the restaurant was very loud in our room until midnight and we had a 2 year old with us. Staff was extremely polite and pleasant except for the Cypriot receptionist (lady in her late 50s). I had an email confirmation from their own booking system that said we could check out at 12 instead of 11. She eventually reluctantly âallowedâ us to check out at 12 after an intense discussion, during which I pleaded with her multiple times to be more polite. She never changed her tone nor apologized. She even said âyou can check out at 12 but not a minute later!â. Surely this is not a way to talk to a customer, who paid âŹ140 for a single night. The worst thing is, I filled in their online survey the next day, which they sent me via email, describing everything in detail but no one ever got in touch to apologize. * EDIT * I got a call from the manager this morning. Even though what I am describing above is true, the fact that this man took 20 minutes out of his time to call me and ask for my feedback and sincerely apologize, made me change my rating. Bad moments happen for everyone but at the end of the day whatâs important is to own up to it and make your customer feel heard and special. This is what Mr Tsanos did for us and for this I am very appreciative. It truly seems they love what they do and that this was indeed an isolated event. Looking forward to visiting and seeing all the nice staff again. Thank you Stavros for the...
Read morePotentially a lovely boutique hotel in a great spot, but a few issues mean we wonât return: they hosted lots of kids who were staying for football matches over the weekend. The vast majority of these children were feral and terribly behaved, the bartender told me this is standard for a weekend in the summer. Itâs hard to be marketed as a boutique hotel when myself and my girlfriend were looking for a quiet weekend away. we paid extra for a Mountain View room but our view was blocked completely by trees, all we could see & hear was the staff taking smoking breaks below our balcony (room 111) the shower was also very dirty, with the grouting very yellow, it hadnât been deep cleaned in months. The shower temperature as swung from hot to cold each minute making showers unpleasant.
However the staff were lovely and the cook baked a little cake for us on our first night which was delicious. They also dropped off little cakes each evening to our room. The breakfast spread was gorgeous and definitely worth trying, especially combined with the view from the dining room balcony.
Iâd recommend they refocus on getting the little things right, a lot of potential but not quite hitting...
Read moreWe were afraid that Pano Platres didn't have any decent accommodation, despite its reputation as the summer capital of Cyprus. So we were surprised to find Petit Palais, a modest but very pretty inn, with all the rooms having pretty balconies with pretty views.||There is almost no lobby to speak of, since the receiving area leading quickly into the bar. The front desk person, Dmitri, was such a funny guy to talk to. ||The room is on the small side, with a small modern desk, the modern design also reflected in the safe-minibar cabinet and night tables. There is no clothes cabinet but simply an open rod with hangers. There's a nice art frame above the headboard and a floor to height mirror. The TV screen is large, with several English language channels.||We were disappointed with the T&B - too small! The shower stall seemed like less than a meter square. No bidet. There's no washboard around the basin - simple the basin, so no place to put your toiletry bag. ||Breakfast was wonderful - they had an omelet station which was impressive for the place. The restaurant offered a decent selection of fine dining choices for the evening. The food we ordered were all high quality. Kudos...
