It is something to do when you are already driving around. For us it was a stop before the Tiske steny nearby. We went and parked at the (paid) main parking lot. A good nice green hike, but too long under the circumstances. Up part anyways. It was hot and most of the paved walk does not have any shade to rest. Somewhere 2/3rd on the way up there is a good place to stop and make wide overlooking shots on the rocks. The tower at the end is nice for some good pictures as well. There is a restaurant for meals and a smaller shop for snacks and drinks. We did not climb in the tower, but it is possible for a fee. Nice to do, but for us not...
Read moreDěčínský Sněžník is a stunning destination that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, history, and breathtaking views. The moderate hike to the summit is rewarded with panoramic vistas from a historic 19th-century observation tower, where you can see as far as the German border on clear days. The trails are well-marked, and the serene forest paths make the journey enjoyable for hikers of all levels. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant near the tower since the owner is grumpy and the food isn't good (you can instead eat and have a beer in the small bar right...

The most significant circular point of view you can find on the top of 33 m high stone lookout tower from 1864, which is one of the oldest in the Czech Republic. Franz Thun had it built in 1864 according to the plans of architect Hanela at an altitude of 723 meters above Děčín. It was originally built for geographical measurements. It was widely used by surveyors from Austria, Prussia and Saxony. With the development of tourism, the observation tower was more and more popular, and so Count Thun hired a guard who had been opening the tower for a tourists paying a fee. Over time, the tower became more familiar even outside of Czech, so a tavern was set up here. Now you can admire an awesome panoramic view of Czech-Saxon Switzerland and Labské pískovce from the gallery, it is really...
