I love this place. Sooo many memories. It's a beautiful place to chill. Quieter than a lot of places. But the crowd that come here seem to be able to take their rubbish home or someone makes a great effort to pick up the rubbish. Brilliant place to spend hours looking for shells and exploring rock pools. Kids can easily loose a whole day here. There is a cafe, pub/restaurant, local shop, football pitch, play park, parking, public toilets. There is also disabled parking spaces and a ramp to the sandy beach. Highly recommended for some peace and chillin'. There is old the picturesque harbour, the Old castle and plenty to explore. Leave it tidy....please 😁🙏

I have never experienced a more breathtaking and mesmerizing view in my life.. especially with the cold breeze chilling you up...I have no regrets going up there. Thank you Rabbies , Scotland coach and the ever witty and knowledgeable guide cum driver , Mr Tom.

Beautiful. We walked along the scaly beach with wonderful views, climbed among the rock pools. Then we climbed up to the castle which is a beautiful ruin. Finished off with tea and a cake in a beautiful cafe in the harbour town.

Between the beach being a part of coastal route and the Kennedy Park offering playing fields, castle ruins and BBQ areas there's no better place near Ayr to spend a nice day/afternoon on a sunny day. Plus, there's the harbour made famous by the Outlander series and the Harbour Inn offering a variety of...

A nice rocky beach which is a short descent from the car park (£2.50 - cash) past a ruined castle. It is stony underfoot, but there are several rocky outcrops that are superb for a scrambling on, or when the tide is in, jumping off! The sea seems calm, and lots of people were enjoying swimming and...
