As a global traveler, gardens and parks are not just a treat but a lesson on cultural, aesthetic, and environmental values of the community. This one in Cuenca hits all the marks of a modern urban park that also has educational value😎😎😎😎😎.

It’s very well designed to fit the local topography. The foot bridges took both an engineering and architectural creativity that allows the casual stroller to enjoy the walk.

👏👏👏 Kudos to the herbalists/botanists for the selection of vegetations and the painstaking design of the educational placards and informational posts.

The addition of local avian species (ducks, chickens and guinea fowl) as well as select ponds with carp brings more life to the garden.😎😎😎

The blooms and, yes, fruits of some of the plants/vines make this a very lovely garden.

My hats off to the gardeners who are seriously doing a terrific job on the upkeep of the garden.

Bravo...

Unbelievable Park! I thought we'd visited all of the nice parks in Cuenca. A chance encounter on You Tube, had us head there to see if this unknown place was for real. It was, and then some. From raised curved paths, wonderful gardens, featuring different climate-zone plants (I swear, one garden came from Ontario). The sounds of the rivers were wonderful, as was the birdsong and the occasional quacking of the resident ducks. While beautiful and new, the place was remarkably uncrowded, for a Sunday afternoon. It felt peaceful, with only the occasional small group. I hope more Cuencanos take advantage...

This new park recently opened. It is a truly amazing place that is still in its early stages of growth. The paths, walkways and overpasses are very well made. This park has amazing potential and is an interesting place to take nature lovers to explore and educate themselves about all the native plants, crops and trees. The bathrooms are very clean and it’s very safe to wander around there. Nature grows fast in Cuenca due to the good amount of rain, but besides that there’s a great irrigation system in place to sustain dry periods. Well...

On a domingo, much to my delight, a large, quiet garden did I peacefully find, peopled by flores, plantas, gallinas and bees, the most remarkable wasps I ever have seen—peopled more so by these than by any human beings. No one asked me for money or showed me the way, free was I to slowly stroll away my mid-day. Look but also touch, do bend in for a sniff, take your time, read the signs, then join the ducks for a swim.
