This intimate and full immersion into the life and art of Guayasamìn is a must visit for art lovers.

In addition to seeing many of the artist's works on display, you will also see his vast collection of art from pre-columbian pottery and bowls to modern masters.

An atheist, Guayasamìn, has a large collection of religious art created by indigenous people in the Quito school. These are displayed the way the artist wanted them to be seen. Look for lots of angles and saints with their eyes 👀 cast towards the sky.

The house is beautiful and the studio is stunning. You can see his workspace, tools, and paints, along with his work.

The house tour was excellent, but I wanted more time to.soend with the many pieces on display. It is packed with beautiful and intriguing art, and I found myself wanting more time to view pieces up close.

The collection on the ground floor is breathtaking. You.see from his earliest works, Guayasamìn is a gifted and...

This museum is very well organized. it has sufficient space to ponder, stroll, or just immerse in thought between the wonderful arts.

this place also has a perfect view of the town. On a good day, you can hike up around the metropolitan park right by the north of this museum.

be sure to leave enough time (half hour) for the bilingual (spanish/english) guided tour in the artist Oswald Guayasamin's home and studio. the tour is very clear and the guide definitely knows a lot of the beloved artist and his work.

The ticket was $10, it's possibly expensive for local standards while most other places cost nothing to 2$ and a full lunch set costs 3-4$. i personally think it is worth the price. but hope there is some discount for the local people...

They offer tours in English as well as Spanish (tours are free and the mandatory way to go through this part of the museum). We were not able to take it unfortunately as we explored the grounds here and then went to Capilla del Hombre and didn't have time afterwards. The staff was so nice though and tracked us down to say they could do the English tour for us now and we felt very bad they put in that effort for us but we had to get going. The art on the outside of the house though is stunning, so I assume the same...

These are two locations in one, both of them imagined by the great artist before his death. His private home gathers some of his personal belongings and pieces of art that he collected throughout his lifetime. The museum below some of his recent pieces and illustrate his own art. Both locations are a unique opportunity to discover the artist and his living environment.

Please take time to visit this beautiful treasure in Quito. It was recommended to me by a local friend who knew I was interested in art. It was my first visit to Quito and I was unsure about visiting. What an awesome and moving experience to learn about this renowned artist and his passion for his work. Not to be missed!!
