Fatema was the daughter of Prince Haidar Fadel, the son of Prince Mustafa Fadel, the brother of Khedive Ismail. The palace of Princess Fatema El Zahraa constructed in the period between 1919 and 1923. This palace is considered to be a piece of European architectural art in itself. It built by French, Italian, and Belgium architects and artists. The palace erected following the school of Michael Angelo using the calm style of coloring and decorations. The Palace of Fatema Al Zahraa constructed over a surface area of 4185 square meters. The palace consists of two large suits. The Eastern Suite has two halls and a gallery. The gallery with a bronze statue of a boy in the center of it. The walls of this suit have rich colored windows decorations all over it. The Western Suit consists of two floors. Each has four large halls with three bathrooms. Bathrooms coated with decorative colored ceramics. An elegant foyer connects between the two suits of the palace. my experience there was very pleasant starting at the door! we didn't have a credit card so we wanted to pay in cash but that wasn't an option then the guard managed to convince a man who had a card to pay for us and we give him the cash. we are foreigners , and we don't find this nice treatment a lot around here. so i really appreciated what he did and i hope he reads my review. he was very friendly , welcoming, and helpful. i wish him all the best. okay now regarding the museum 😂 it's actually a palace going back to the turkish government. it was a great experience to be inside one of those palaces from that era. it's as close as to time travel! the place is a piece of art inside out. the exterior design and the spaces are very eye catching. and the Egyptians did an amazing job maintains the palace in a great condition. the interior of it is so dreamy. walls , ceilings, floors , and windows are all art! even the floor of the bathroom is made in mosaic. the jewelry and the collectibles are amazing. they really had some great sense of style. each piece is unique and eye pleasing. one thing that would have made everything even more better is the organization of the display windows given the space ratios of the rooms. also the display windows needs to have to sort of anti reflection behind the pieces for better visibility. i really enjoyed my time there , spent around one hour and a half. the gift shop also have some nice pieces that you could take as a souvenir.

A beautiful Neoclasical palace that hosts the Royal Jewellery Museum, it was originally built as a summer palace for the family of Zeinab Fahmi, wife of a descendant of Mohamed Ali Pasta who ruled Egypt during the first half of the 1800,s . On her death Fahmi left the palace to her daughter princess Fatmah Al-Zahraa, who added an east wing to it connected to the rest of the building by a corridor. Her maternal uncle, an Italian architect who also designed the Sidi Gaber train station in Alexandria, created the interior design of the palace. Following the 1952 Revolution, the palace was expropriated by the government, though Al-Zahraa was allowed to live in it during her lifetime. In 1964, she left Alexandria and handed the palace to the government. When she died in 1983 the palace was used briefly as a presidential rest house, and then in 1986 thev former president Hosni Mubarak issued a decree assigning it as a new museum for the former royal jewellery collection. The building was reorganised such that it could become a fitting home for the jewellery of the Mohamed Ali family, Egypt’s former royal house.

Even though a country overthrows its monarchy, it's still good to visit parts of it, especially to better understand their influence on that country. The royal jewelry museum gives a nice insight into the Egyptian royals, although I am sure the museum does not have the real top-pieces: those must have been sold-off, stolen or remained in the hands of the royal family. The pieces on display are nice, represent some excellent design and usage of gemstones, but nothing is jaw dropping compared to European royal jewelry ( nothing wrong with that, but it is known the Egyptian royal family did have some astonishing pieces). There are some true beauties though and the museum itself is a beautiful Italianate villa with period decor. The exhibit could be brought to life more though: why not include photos of the jewelry being worn by the royals, so we get a better sense of the story or include the story behind some of the pieces: was it a special gift, a specific designer maybe? Very much worth a visit!

يضم المتحف مجموعة من أروع وأجمل المجوهرات الملكية والتي كان يرتديها ويتزين بها أفراد الأسرة العلوية المالكة في مصر ومنها مجوهرات الملك فؤاد والملك فاروق وزوجاته والأمراء والأميرات من العائلة المالكة.. ولذلك فهو يُعرف باسم متحف المجوهرات الملكية. ويضم المتحف 11 ألفاً و500 قطعة تخص أفراد الأسرة المالكة. وقد تم تقسيم القصر إلى عشر قاعات تضم مجموعات من التحف والمجوهرات التي تخص أفراد أسرة محمد علي ومن أهمها: مجموعة تخص مؤسس الأسرة العلوية «محمد علي» من بينها علبة نشوق من الذهب المموه بالمينا عليها اسمه «محمد علي» مجموعة الأمير محمد علي توفيق التي تشمل 12 ظرف فنجان من البلاتين والذهب ونحو 2753 فصاً من الماس البرنت والفلمنك وحافظة نقود من الذهب المرصع بالماس..بالإضافة إلى ساعة جيب خاصة بالسلاطين العثمانيين. ومن عصر الخديوي سعيد باشا توجد مجموعة من الوشاحات والساعات الذهبية.. والأوسمة والقلائد المصرية والتركية والأجنبية مرصعة بالمجوهرات والذهب..ونحو أربعة آلاف من العملات الأثرية المتنوعة. مجموعة تخص مؤسس الأسرة العلوية محمد علي من بينها علبة نشوق من الذهب المموه بالمينا عليها اسمه «محمد علي». ساعات من الذهب وصور بالمينا الملونة للخديوي إسماعيل والخديوي توفيق. مجموعة تحف ومجوهرات الملك فؤاد وأهمها: مقبض من ذهب مرصع بالماس. ميداليات ذهبية ونياشين عليها صورته. تاج من البلاتين المرصع بالماس والبرلنت لزوجته الأميرة شويكار. مجموعة مجوهرات الملكة نازلي من أهمها حلية من الذهب مرصعة بالماس البرلنت. مجموعة تحف ومجوهرات الملك فاروق والملكة نازلي ومن أهمها: شطرنج من الذهب المموه بالمينا الملونة المرصع بالماس. صينية ذهبية عليها توقيع «110 من الباشوات». عصا المارشاليه من الابنوس والذهب. طبق من العقيق مهدى من قيصر روسيا. مجموعة الملكة فريدة زوجة الملك فاروق الأولى ومن أهم قطعها: تاج الملكة من البلاتين المرصع بالماس البرلنت وتوكه من الماس البرلنت. دبابيس صدر من الذهب والبلاتين المرصع بالماس البرلنت والفلمنك. مجموعة الملكة ناريمان زوجة الملك فاروق الثانية ومن أهم قطعها: أوسمة وقلادات وميداليات تذكارية. مسطران وقصعة من الذهب استخدمت في وضع حجر الأساس للمشروعات. مجموعات الأميرات فوزية أحمد فؤاد وفائزة أحمد فؤاد: «أ» مجموعة من الاساور والتوك ودبابيس الصدر من أهمها: توكة من البلاتين المرصع بالماس عليها اسم «فوزية». عقد ذهب مرصع بالماس البرلنت واللؤلؤ «فائزة». مجموعة الأميرات سميحة وقدرية حسين كامل: مجموعة من ساعات الجيب من الذهب المرصع بالماس البرلنت والفلمنك وسوار ذهب مرصع بالماس البرلنت والفلمنك واللؤلؤ. مجموعة الأمراء يوسف كمال ومحمد علي توفيق: وتضم العديد من التحف والمجوهرات والاوسمة والقلادات والنياشين هذا بالإضافة إلى مجموعات أخرى من المجوهرات التي تناولها العرض المتحفي في أسلوب شيق واستعملت الإضاءة التي تعتمد على التوجيه الضوئي المباشر للقطع المعروضة دون التأثير عليها أو تأثر المشاهد بها وقد زودت خزانات العرض بالبطاقات الشارحة باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية. ويعد هذا المتحف من أجمل المعالم السياحية في الإسكندرية حيث يضم مجموعة نادرة ورائعة من التحف والمجوهرات والحلي والمشغولات الذهبية والأحجار الكريمة والساعات المرصعة بالجماهلر والماس. وتحف (قصر) المجوهرات يفتح أبوبه للمصريين والضيوف الأجانب وأسعار الدخول للمصريين أسعار زهيده جداً تشجيعاً لهم زيارة هذا المتحف الهام والتعرف على مايضمه من مقتنيات ومجوهرات غاية في الروعة والجمال ربما لايوجد لهل مثيل في العالم.
