I have been to Bale Mountains National Park with Armaye Ethiopia on a 2,5 days tour after being in Addis. It has been an amazing experience. I had a very knowledgeable and nice guide Awol (he never went awol;) who explained all my curious mind wanted to know about Ethiopia and places we have seen. I was travelling alone, but i felt very well taken care of by Awol and the driver who spent with me these 2,5 days. I wanted to see the nature, animals, and lifestyle and it was not disappointed at all. The flight to Bale from Addis Ababa is less than an hour and since you land in the morning you have the full day ahead to explore. We saw woodlands with many animals while hiking through the park. You can see them from a short distance (my only regret was that I didn’t take a good camera). We saw special Ethiopian antelopes - mountain nyala - many herds of them in close vicinity. In the grasslands we saw baboons, different types of antelopes and boars. We were basically in the middle of them while they were eating and moving around. Bale doesn’t have many tourists. So I had the scenery to myself with Awol. On the second day you spend more time in the car, with small hikes and see such a diversity of landscapes - from afroalpine ( we went as high as 4,300 m) to rainforest. We saw Ethiopian wolves higher in the mountains hunting for rats in 5-6m from us. In the rainforest we saw special species of monkeys for this area. In the middle of the day we stopped for a lunch with amazing bread, honey and spinach in a small village in the rainforest. All in all, it was an amazing trip, the people are very friendly and hospital. Bale area is safe to visit. I knew about the conflict in the country, but it is very far from Bale (the other mountains Simien mountains unfortunately are not safe to visit) for the moment. Ethiopia saw a huge drop in tourists due to the conflict, however the parts i have been to - Addis and Bale - i can say for sure are safe. Many other cultural sites and landscapes as well. If you like going to places with not many tourists and exploring the genuine local life , Ethiopia is a fantastic and a very versatile place to be. They are trying hard to attract tourists back so you will feel very-very welcomed! You could also do 5-day trekking in Bale ! Thank you Armaye Ethiopia and Awol for letting me see...
Read moreWe entrusted our 8-day trip to Ethiopia to Armaye and his team, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the very beginning, Armaye was highly responsive, promptly answering all our questions and adjusting the itinerary to accommodate our requests. In the end, we opted for a 4-day, 3-night tour in the Bale Mountains, and everything was seamlessly organized. Armaye took care of all the logistics from day one, including our hotel pickup in Addis Ababa, the flight to Goba, and a warm welcome by our guide upon arrival. The experience in the mountains was incredible—the equipment provided (sleeping bags, tents) was of excellent quality, and the landscapes were truly breathtaking. After our hike, Kanfe was already waiting for us at the Sanetti Plateau to continue our journey through the Rift Valley lakes (Hawassa, Abiata, Langano). Kanfe was an outstanding guide who made our trip even more enjoyable. He was always attentive, accommodating our requests, and a great companion throughout the journey. Additionally, Armaye and Kanfe arranged a city tour in Addis Ababa for our final day, guided by Dagim. We visited the city's main attractions and enjoyed delicious meals at traditional restaurants. The hotels booked as part of the tour were also of a high standard, ensuring a comfortable stay. Everything was perfectly organized, and we had an unforgettable experience. We truly hope to return to Ethiopia and once again entrust our trip to Armaye and his team. Highly...
Read moreThanks to Armaye Ethiopia Tour's thoughtful and sophisticated arrangements. We had a wonderful tour in Ethiopia. During the 16-day tour, we could appreciate different aspects of Ethiopia like monumental rock-hewn churches in Lalibela, UNESCO-declared world heritage castles/palaces in Gonda, gorgeous landscape and plenty flora and fauna in Simien Mountains National Park, amazing mural painting in Orthodox monasteries on islands in Lake Tana in Bahir Dir, surreal and splendid geological sites with salt pans, colourful mineral terraces and volcanoe scenes in Danakil Depression, breathtaking scenes with lots of precious animals in Bale Mountains National Park, and of course, historical and cultural cityscape in the capital of Addis Ababa. This should be one of my unforgettable trip in a lifetime.
Armaye and his teams have done a great job for us. Armaye is responsive, informative and flexible in planning our tour. He provided instant response whenever we raised questions about our tours, and made sound suggestions for re-arrangements to suit our preference. In particular, Armaye has provided excellent online support and addressed any enquiries throughout our tour albeit he is in Addis Ababa. When a domestic flight had been cancelled when we arrived at the airport, Armaye and the guide at the destination, Tamirat, had helped make perfect re-arrangement to ensure that we would not miss any programme scheduled. Hence, I strongly recommend Armaye...
