Nice museum. It’s small but the exhibits are good. You need to buy tickets. Normal ticket is 11e. Free for kids below 18. Some sections are only in Finnish. That’s a bit inconvenient but still I liked the place and vibes.

Paikka oli kiinnostava. Kävimme Ysäri-näyttelyssä sekä perusnäyttelyssä. Ysäri-näyttely oli ihan mukava, vaikka en itse ysäriä ole elänytkään. Toteutus oli kiva. Perusnäyttelyssä kävi ilmi paljon Etelä-Karjalan historiaa ja siksi suosittelen etenkin turisteille. Paikan atmosfääri ja ulkoasu oli jotenkin tunkkainen, joten siintä miinuspiste. #lappeenranta #etelä-karjalanmuseo #ysärimeininki

Отличный краеведческий музей! Т.к. имею слабость к краеведческим музеям - посетил и этот. Очень приятное место. Единый билет действует на три музея - краеведческий, арт-галерею и временную выставку. За парковку можно не переживать - на территории крепости уйма парковочных мест бесплатно.

Really interesting exhibitions! I didnt knew much about Karelian history or even the region/city of Lappeenranta. They had info in both Finnish and English for everything and their exhibitions were fascinating! If you are in town I really urge you to go here, if not for the museum so for the area of Linnoitus where there are other museums and a beautiful view over...

The museum is located in historical place where old fortress has been located from old times. Museum is small, only two rooms. The exposition in the first room was really interesting and decorated artistically: mythology of South Carelia and northern Siberia. In the second room you can see some items illustrating history of Lappeenranta to our days. Ticket is 8 euro...
