I could not recommend a place more - Some of the best wine and chèvre I’ve tasted in my year in France came from this family-owned farm and winery just outside Aix and this alone makes the visit more than worthwhile. Their cheese isn’t really sold elsewhere (outside one shop in town only on specific days) so making the trip out here is the best (and pretty much only) way to enjoy it fresh, surrounded by the beautiful Provençal landscape.
What really sets this place apart, though, is the love and care that the family pours into every part of what they do, from their products to the way they welcome visitors. I came alone, after a tough stretch in my life and carrying lots of grief from a recent loss, just hoping for a little time with animals and good wine. The booking process over WhatsApp was warm and easy, and when I showed up late due to a minor bicycle crash (silly me taking a long camisole on a bike), they greeted me with a level of kindness and understanding I would have never expected. (Short side note - skip the bike and take an uber/bolt because the last bit of dirt road is steep and rocky!)
Camila (so sorry if I misrepresented her name in any way), who works with the family, and the lovely mother who runs the estate made sure I didn’t miss a thing: I tasted their wonderful wines, took in the stunning views, and even got to spend a quiet moment with their gentle goats. One in particular, Milka, who cuddled up to me, gave me exactly the comfort I’d hoped for. The care and warmth I felt here turned my day around completely, and I left feeling deeply grateful for the healing energy they share so generously.
I truly believe any traveler will feel welcomed into this truly beautiful and special place and leave feeling blissful. Don’t miss it if you’re...
Read moreWe were unlucky, but we’re asked to provide a review so here it is .The trail to the chateau is not an easy one, you have to be quite a walker to reach uphill, there is one sign which is quite small and badly visible on the side of the road, near huge chateau Simone sign. We didn’t have a pleasure of meeting the family who owns the farm, instead we had a talk on lady guide who spent with us 2 hours - first hour talking about Sezanne. Interesting but very long for the wine testing (especially since Sezanne lecture was before the wine). After the Sezanne lecture followed drawing activity , where guide instructed as two paint 6 pictures - with eyes closed, left hand, far view, close view - again not even a smell of wine or cheese on the table. When wine finally arrived in half empty bottles we were starved and exhausted. The commercial manager (dressed in quite eccentric outfit) started presenting the bottles and poured the first 40 ml glass of white wine, followed by rose and very simple red wine. The chateau will not suffer bankruptcy any time soon - for 150 ml of wine and 2 small cheeses shared across the table we were charged 25 euros each. The guide helped herself to the cheese as well and we all enjoyed the great view, which was really amazing. Perhaps there is a different tour option available, which by the comments seems to be way betters than experience that we had - we were not offered any options at all, so the wine tasting at this chateau is not...
Read moreA Hidden Gem in the French Countryside – A Must-Visit Goat Farm & Winery
Our visit to this incredible goat farm and winery in France last Thursday was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the rolling countryside, this family-owned gem is run by three brothers, and we had the pleasure of meeting Nicola, whose passion for the land and its traditions was truly inspiring.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality. We met the shepherd, who introduced us to their beautiful herd of goats, and we even had the chance to taste fresh, raw goat milk—an unforgettable experience. The purity and richness of the milk were unlike anything we’ve ever had before.
Of course, no visit would be complete without exploring their winery. The wines were exceptional, each bottle reflecting the dedication and craftsmanship of this family-run estate. The setting, with its rustic charm and breathtaking views, made the tasting even more special.
This farm is a perfect blend of tradition, sustainability, and passion. If you’re looking for an authentic, off-the-beaten-path experience in France, this place is an absolute must-visit. We can’t...
