Beautiful well designed apartments for skiers and walkers (depending on the season). Beautiful views of the mountains and lifts (depending on which side you're on I suppose).

The apartments are compact but with 2 twin bedrooms, 2 bunks and a double sofa bed, with ease you could fit 8 people in ours.

Galley style kitchen is best suited to one person cooking at a time so pre-plan to share the cooking duties if possible. Good extractor fan and each apartment is well appointed with plates and cutlery for 16 (2 meals a day) and a dishwasher as well as breakfast bowls and a host of utensils. We were only short a grater and a potato masher (apparently not French essentials).

There a multiple lifts to various parts of the buildings as well as a lot of basement bootrooms/lockers to store your boots and skis and keep your apartment dry.

The complex has a code entry to the pool, when you want access - daytime only (closes at 7) and no access on Saturday (change over day) with a new code each week.

A 5 minute walk to the local Spar shop makes this a very convenient location with a Restaurant next door to the Spar as well as one opposite the entrance to Lagranges. The Ski and board hire shop is spitting distant from the complex check-in with convenient ski racks located around to stash your skis whilst you buy passes or snacks.

The ski-pass system is very flexible at the resort with options for beginners being circa €35 a day, half day options, full resort passes, multi-resort passes and a pedestrian access pass to access the top of glacier via bubble lift for only €8! Superb.

The resort is at 1800m so well above the snowline with easy access up to 3000m for fresher snow more often. Snowed again just as we left so if you're looking right now it's perfect for a last minute get away (9/01/23) enjoy!

Back again for New Year 2024 - snowed every day so far and the trails are well groomed. Swimming Pool has been renovated as well as the wooden features...

Just to flag a danger at chairlift SALLA here as I got injured on Christmas day.

At the end of my 2nd day in the resort, on my way back to Bellecote with my snowboard, I had an accident on the chairlift Salla. Those chairs came with incredible speed and force and hit my knee from the outside with less-than-expected reaction time available. My left knee bent inwards with a pop sound, and the chairs shove me up and I had to stay on it up to the top. The operator heard my scream but she simply stared at me without any action.

On the second day my friend's calf got hit at the same place, and she saw a group of people failed to react and fell on the stand-by area as well (though the operator had stopped the chairlift this time).

At the top of the slope I sought for assistance from the first aid. The guy actually did not assess my knee and asked whether I could go back on myself, or do I want to use the rescue service. He did not appear to demonstrate relevant knowledge in my situation. As I was not aware of the severeness of my injury, I decided to return by myself, putting up with the pain.

The doctor in the village gave me a diagnostic treatment, and concluded that it was a MCL tear (level 2). My physiotherapist suggested that I should rest for able 5 months before picking up any sport again.

For the rest of the days in La Plagne there were nothing much I could do. I tried to claim the insurance (bought on top of the ski pass payment on the website), part of the ski pass was refunded (with 50 EUR admin fee deducted). I can only claim the medical cost in addition to any private or national healthcare insurance.

I understand I should have paid more attention but I have never heard or expected there is a safety issue with a chairlift that can cause severe injury.

La plagne is a nice, with some nice slopes and beautiful views. But in the next few seasons, we don't think we will have any plan to visit this...

La Plagne ski resort in France is an absolute gem! I recently had the pleasure of visiting this winter wonderland, and I was blown away by the quality of the slopes, the stunning scenery, and the friendly staff.

Firstly, the skiing experience at La Plagne is simply unparalleled. With over 225km of ski runs, there is something for everyone, from gentle beginner slopes to challenging black runs for the more advanced skiers. The slopes are impeccably maintained, with plenty of snowmaking machines ensuring that there is always a good base, even in warmer weather. The lifts are also modern and efficient, meaning that there are never long queues or waiting times.

Secondly, the scenery at La Plagne is absolutely breathtaking. Nestled in the heart of the French Alps, the resort offers stunning views of snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and pine forests. Whether you're skiing down the slopes or enjoying a hot chocolate in one of the many cozy mountain cafes, you'll feel like you're in a winter wonderland.

Finally, I have to mention the staff at La Plagne, who truly went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. From the friendly ski instructors to the helpful hotel staff, everyone was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. It's clear that they take great pride in their work and in providing the best possible experience for their guests.

Overall, I can't recommend La Plagne ski resort highly enough. Whether you're an experienced skier or a first-timer, you'll love the stunning slopes, breathtaking scenery, and friendly atmosphere of this...

I've been coming here for a few years and have to say it's an incredible resort. Not only are there vast areas to ski at all levels, but it's the way they continue to keep the resort up to date in terms of lifts and skiing experience. It almost feels that every time you come back there is a new high-speed chair or a modification to a run to make it that bit more interesting. The runs are mainly blue, but they are fantastic, long, and interesting. Some being more suited to beginners and intermediates, and some getting a bit steaper to help people progress. The reds are then a welcomed challenge, with some being un grommed to give that mogal field joy we all love ;-) The blacks are mostly ungroomed, with some being long and pretty steep in places to give a good challenge to those who want it. Granted, the blacks can often be closed depending on snowfall, but that is good to see in a way that they are looking out for the skiers who come here. There is a vast amount of off piest skiing to be done as well for those who want the challenge. I've skiied a good few resorts and do find myself comparing to la plagne just because of how well it's looked after and also because of the sheer volume of skiing to be done. Well worth coming here if you can
