We had this hotel as part of a half board package, whilst on a skiing holiday in Belle Plagne.
The food was a set menu which was diverse and contained traditional pub grub such as lasagne, burger and steak. However, also had evenings with classic french dishes such as racollete and cheese fondue (many yum). The starters almost always consisted of some form of mixed salad - which was served generously on all occasions! There were multiple options for starters.
The restaurant was very warm with rustic decor and had a lovely view of the piste. The staff - despite being very busy (even in January), remained warm, attentive, friendly and helpful and spoke good English.
The atmosphere was good. However, we did get seated at the same table for every breakfast and evening meal which was ok on this occasion as the other customers around us were enjoyable to be around. However, this may become a challenge if those around are too loud and overbearing. I wondered if K2 would of been able to offer an alternative seating arrangement within this scenario? As it seemed as though there wasn't an alternative place to sit. Although we never felt the need to question this at the time as we were lucky with the company we had on this occasion.
The breakfast in the morning was a standard continental style breakfast, with some added extras such as bacon and scrambled egg (again many yum). Breakfast was always on time where doors opened from 8am.
We didn't know what to expect, as out accomodation was on the less then impressive. However, the evening meals and breakfasts's were always a delightful period of the day.
Thank you K2, for delivering a successful and delightful experience. We would happily return.

Read moreLet's start with the positives... the food here is excellent. The salads are fresh, meats are plentiful, and there is a decent choice on the menu.
The service, however, leaves much to be desired. We struggled to attract the waiters' attention to order food and then to get another round of drinks. We'd been given a table in the corner, behind a large group, and we couldn't be seen. In fact, the table was somewhat claustrophia-inducing, and we were being ignored for much of our visit.
We decided to give the restaurant a second chance and visited again a few nights later as the food had been so nice. Again, they tried to put us at the dark and dingy table in the corner, despite many other tables being vacant and us having made a reservation. This resulted in some awkward and drawn-out conversation until they relented and gave us a (marginally) better table. We have a child with dietary requirements, so we ordered a burger with no cheese or sauce on it. The waitress took the order quite happily and agreed to the changes to the standard item on the menu. However, a few minutes later, the waitress returned to say the chef had refused to prepare a burger without cheese or sauce on it, saying no modifications could be made to the burger as it was already made! I don't believe that at all - surely the burger is cooked fresh and then assembled into the bun with various trimmings at that point! We were very disappointed with this response and left without eating on this occasion.
We've not yet decided whether to return, which is a shame as we have always enjoyed our visits to K2 in previous years. This year was so...
Read moreOutrageously bad Cheese Fondue. While the Raclette of the other 4 was reasonable, our Fondue was an insult! The 51 most wasted Euros of these holidays (2p)!! It was not heated and mixed properly and tasted only like flour. It had two phases - one very thick (tasteless) cheese layer on the bottom and a pure water+flour soup on top. When we asked to mix it better and mentioned perhaps it just needed more heating, they shrugged their shoulders and took the pot, just to bring it back the same after 15min. We gave up, as our complaints did not seem to be appropriate to them. Bread was partly several days old, and on top of it they did not serve the salad that we paid with the Fondue (probably they forgot, and so did we due to our worry about the Fondue itself). We left hungry, disappointed and significantly lighter in the pocket. Very bad experience, never again (I do believe though that locals are better treated and would never get served such...
