Our visit to St. Bernadette's childhood home on 23 June 2018 was arranged by 206Tours that conduct Pilgrimages for Catholics. Of all the reviews posted, none mentioned that St. Bernadette's current heirs to the home live there and operate the gift shop to keep things going as a museum. The museum and gift shop is operated by St. Bernadette family members to this day, and you may not see them, but surely they are there. We had a wonderful visit to St. Bernadette's childhood home, and to the convent in Nevers, France where her body lay in chapel. Below are photos of the convent, the door of the gate that St. Bernadette walked through to enter the convent, which is the same doors used in the movie, and her body in chapel at Nevers where she served as a nun and died there on 16 April 1879. There are photos in this post that I did not submit, do not know how tbey got in my post, i.e., the car. Why is a car in my post and I cannot delete it? Is this something Google think is funny? Please remove the kadjar car, and whatever is to the right...

Today, it serves as a preserved museum offering visitors a glimpse into her early life, showcasing original furnishings, personal belongings, and historical documents. The atmosphere of the house reflects the simplicity and hardship of Bernadette’s upbringing, deepening the spiritual experience for pilgrims and visitors who seek to understand the context in which this humble girl was chosen to receive the apparitions of the Blessed...
Read moreSo grateful the home to Saint Bernadette has been preserved. It is a humbling experience to get a sense of how she and her family lived in this very small home.
The energy as expected is peaceful and calm, I found it to be quite emotional. I can only imagine the scenes within this home when it became known that Saint Bernadette revealed her knowledge of The Immaculate Conception.
A definite visit to take a walk back in history and in the footsteps of...
