Château d'Asnières — Attraction in Arrondissement of Nanterre

For such an advertised landmark, it's very disappointing that they don't really care to display anywhere near the castle when it's open - absolutely nothing! We as tourists took a train and walked over there for almost 20 minutes only to find padlocked gates and other confused visitors. No attendants or timings related info at the venue. Reviews are all in French and not one mentioned when they visited. It was a huge let down ! Hope they heed the input and try to be bit more...

This castle, built between 1750 and 1752, is in the process of a complete restoration. Most of the interior construction has been completed, but it is still an empty shell of its former glory. The docents explain the history and the restoration process of the castle, providing a behind the scenes look at what went into the restoration of similar landmarks like the palace...

Château construit entre 1750 et 1752 par Jacques Hardouin-Mansart de Sagonne pour le marquis Voyer d'Argenson , les salles du château sont presque entièrement rénovées , il sert pour des expos parfois , une statue de cheval à été rajoutée il y a une dizaine d'années dans la cour. Le château a servi au XIX ème siècle pour des soirées et des bals pour la bourgeoisie Parisienne puis diverses institutions religieuses ses sont succédés jusqu'en 1976 et le château fût abandonné jusqu'à sa reprise par la mairie en 1992 , il existe une imitation du château nommé The Elms se situant à Newport dans l'état de Rhode Island aux USA. Un peu de mobilier serait un plus. On trouve le square Voyer d'Argenson juste en traversant la rue , le site se trouve à une dizaine de minutes à pieds du métro Gabriel Péri ou par le bus 175 qui passe dans la rue Pierre...
