What a glorious experience to be able to enter and frequent the house where M. Vuitton and his family lived. Such a piece of history still in the making in the story of the Maison. We were received by a wonderfully nice lady who sat with us in the living room giving us a historic introduction to setting the scene of the origins of it all and how we came to be there. We were then escorted to a Time Capsule exhibition filled with glorious examples of pieces produced by several of the house's main artistic directors. Visited the atelier as part of Journées Particulières, LVMH's annual open house weekend, and was very impressed. We received a tour of the factory showing how the different leathers are treated and the steps taken to produce a number of bags. This is the only Louis Vuitton atelier still producing rigid luggage and most products made here are made to order. The building also contains a gallery telling the history of Louis Vuitton.
