Upon arrival, you’re welcomed by a beautiful château with a clearly marked shop. We were warmly received and even given the chance to freshen up — a thoughtful detail after arriving in the summer heat.
Our guide Océane was a delight: professional yet relaxed, knowledgeable yet approachable. Before starting the tour, she asked about our own wine knowledge, tailoring her explanations so nothing felt unnecessary — only what truly mattered.
Every question was answered with care and honesty. The visit to the cellars, where you could see soil samples from each vineyard, was especially fascinating.
The tasting was superb. Each wine was explained in detail, prices were clear, and every question was met with both humor and seriousness. Although Océane was French, her English was excellent and easy to follow.
Finally, in the shop, we were guided once more with the same warmth and precision, making it easy to choose the perfect bottles to take home.
A memorable experience I would highly recommend to any...
Read moreWe had a fantastic experience at Château de la Crée! My wife and I booked the Les Climats and Picnic experience. The picnic meal that the staff had prepared was great and consisted of various charcuterie, cheeses, pasta, lentils, bread, and a treat. After our picnic, our tour guide Maxim gave us a tour of the estate, discussed the history of Château de la Crée, explained how the various Climats/terroir/soils of the different regions of Burgundy contribute the unique wines they produce (one of the rooms on the tour actually gave examples of the various soils in the different regions). I found this part of the tour to be very informative. The wine tasting was excellent - we were given 6 selections, 3 Chardonnays and 3 Pinots; this selection included a Grand Cru, and 3 Premier Crus. During the tasting we were also given additional cheese. We ended up purchasing multiple bottles. Fantastic experience; Maxim was courteous, very informative, and an excellent tour guide. Highly...
Read moreWe took the normal winery tour and tasting in English as a family (3 adults, 2 young children). Despite being 30min late, which was completely our fault, Nathan waited for us to start the tour and did a FANTASTIC job. He was patient with our family and didn't mind us wrangling children while he spoke.
The tour of the chateau was brief but informative, and we were able to get up and personal with the vines they have growing right on the property.
The tasting was intimate and relaxed, with helpful descriptions of the wine. We did not feel pressured to buy anything but did leave with a few, reasonably priced bottles. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone in the area looking for a single 'chateau winery tour' and would specifically recommend asking for Nathan as your English...
