I caught a tram today, but couldnt work the machine. So i jumped on assuming i could pay at the end, or a conductor would sell me a ticket. Im from Australia, and cant really speak french. So a man and lady got on and asked for my ticket. I tried telling them i didnt understand but was happy to buy my ticket. So i assumed everything was fine. I get back from my day out and check my bank account, and i have been fined $50. Im so mad. They didnt tell me that they were doing that, actually the man was quite rude and stood over me. Lovely way to treat tourists. The actual price of the ticket was about 3 euros....

It's an entire scheme: they block the option to pay by credit card and offer to help you select the ticket & pay in exchange of cash. We ended up paying 50€ for Versailles, back and forth instead of 6,40€......
