This is a memorial, fittingly located directly on the beach, for the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day landings, this being part of Sword Beach. For the 80th anniversary, 177 trees have been planted around the memorial and nearby, each dedicated to a Commando who took part in the landings, and their names are included on a plaque in front of each tree. Free to visit and open 24/7.
