Good exhibitions, but much of the floorspace is devoted to the paintings of various artists, and there’s limited information on the life of Paul Valéry outside of his experiences in occupied Paris. In some respects, I learned more from my guide book (e.g. Valéry’s intense interest in contemporary scientific inquiry) than from the museum! Le musée présente de nombreuses œuvres fin XIX et début xx. Belle collection de Di Rosa et d'autres artistes Setois. Toujours un petit bémol sur l'éclairage entraînant des reflets sur les œuvres.
Very nice museum after the city of Sète. A breathtaking view of the sea, a cemetery with beautiful tombs including those of Jean Vilar, Paul Valery and Georges Brassens. The museum presents many works late nineteenth and early twentieth. Beautiful collection of Di Rosa and other Setois artists. Always a small flat on the lighting causing reflections...
