Pont du Gard and the accompanying museum are great experiences for all, especially so for the history fan. The aqueduct itself is truly impressive in scale and in concept. Learning about what the Romans accomplished with this feat of engineering and construction while standing on a 2000 year old structure can be quite an experience. You have access to both sides of the river and can even easily access for river for a short dip or just to put your feet in the water. A nice coffee/snack place and a restaurant also are on site at the aqueduct. The museum is very well done with multiple language displays in both full and small scale and give a great view of the purpose, design and actual construction. Both physical and audio/visual displays. Well worth the small fee. Parking is included if you buy the...

Impressive monument that can be viewd from either end provided you are prepared to tackle some uneven paths. Substantial car park and visitor reception area with toilets, cafe etc. As a solo mototcyclist with just an hour to spare on my journey I felt the car park charge was excessive and did not represent good value, It's probably OK for a family in a car intending to spend the afternoon there but if you are just looking to absorb a bit of history for an hour there are probably better options. Steps down to the river bank are covered in loose gravel and represent a slip hazard which could easily be dealt with...

If you like engineering marvels, this place is for you. The museum does a great job explaining how the entire aqueduct system was built, including all the basic principles, etc. Several hands-on exhibits that are great for kids to interact with. then after all that you get to go on a delightful walk and see the impressive structure for your self. It was a bit chaotic when I visited due to renovations, but I'd think they may be finished in time for summer. No crowds when I went, but I can see the place getting packed durin gthe summer vacation months as the river looks great for swimming and hanging out on its...
