The view from the restaurant is mesmerizing, the Pont du Gard is right there. Great outdoor and indoor seating, it is the only restaurant on site, reservations are strongly suggested. Food choices are limited, but enough for a great lunch. We shared a plancha of local spreads, saucisson, goat cheese and went for a fantastic spiced crusted chicken salad and an app of squid, potatoes and cayenne dressing. Service was a little bit disorganized, drinks took a while to arrive, but our waiter was friendly pleasant and fluent in English. Suggestion: don't be a typical American tourist, you will be desapointed by the iced tea( it is seen over there as a nonalcoholic coktail) and iced cubes are a oxymoron since everything is refrigerated. Overhaul a beautiful place, get a bottle of Rose wine and enjoy a 2 hours lunch if you are not willing to climb on top of the bridge, it's a workout...
Read moreWe ordered a vegetarian burger with fries and a Guinea fowl with crayfish sauce and mashed potatoes as the main. It took ages for the kitchen to prepare and serve. It took almost an hour to arrive our table In the interim, few staff noted the delay and apologised. Thus, offering a bottle of perrier free to combat the heatwave and our dissatisfaction.
The main dishes were indeed very tasty and flavorful. Worth the wait indeed. After the meal we took a coffee ice-cream and milkshake. They were really delicious and the quality exceeded our expectations.
When we paid the bill, it's to our surprise that the restaurant had only charged us the main with a total of some €50. The staff apologised again the delay due to their system error and wished us an enjoyable day.
Very exceptional customer service and good marketing...
Read moreThe restaurant does not care about their customers. Period. They know that since this is the only restaurant in the complex and tourists are unlikely to return, they can do whatever they want. The business model is based on profit optimization via operational efficiency but not at all customer service. The menu is limited. If you are vegetarian or have dietary restrictions, don’t go there. If you have children, don’t even bother. But the worst part is their shortcoming on customer service. The staff (except for one waiter of Egyptian origin) is rude. The manager has yet to learn people skills. She is immature, but one day she will hopefully get the point. I do not recommend this restaurant at all, stay away, bring your own...
