Jeu de piste Explorama Pont du Gard — Attraction in Nîmes

Arrived here as it opened in the morning so I had the place to myself without having to wait in line. It is an astonishing Roman aqueduct in a beautiful setting in Provence - ask for nothing more. By the time I left, a number of tour buses arrived so there were people everywhere having a nice experience on their own. There are plenty of trails to explore along the river and to the top of the structure. The museum is well executed with signage in French and English. The movie about the site has some interesting information and drone shots but is longer...

Ein großartiger Platz, der immer noch einen Besuch Wert ist, aber absolut überreguliert. Dass man nicht mehr wie vor 30 Jahren frei über den Pont spazieren kann, ist sicher dem Vollkasko-Zeitgeist geschuldet. Das Risiko eines abgestürzten Touris geht heute eben keine Gemeinde mehr ein. Die weitläufigen Spazierwege führen sicher an hübsche Aussichtspunkte. Minuspunkte: 9.50€ Eintritt pro Person, aber in dem schicken Empfangstrakt gibt es 12Uhr mittags keine Möglichkeit etwas zu Essen oder zu Trinken zu bekommen. In der Toilette die 3 Urinale außer Betrieb und von den WC-Kabinen nur eine mit funktionierender...

L'ayant visiter il y a 30 ans, j'ai été déçu. En effet à l'époque, on pouvait accéder à l'intérieur du pont. Maintenant il faut payer en plus de l'entrée. Dépenser 9,50€ pour l'entrée c'est cher juste pour voir le pont et le musée. Heureusement, étant invalide c'était gratuit pour moi...
