I visited the Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste-le-Vœu in Nice and was moved by its serene atmosphere and historical significance. Built between 1836 and 1852 in a neoclassical style, the church was erected as a vow to the Virgin Mary for protecting the city from a cholera epidemic in 1832. Its elegant façade and peaceful interior offer a quiet retreat amidst the city’s bustle. A meaningful place to reflect and appreciate Nice’s rich heritage.

Gorgeous Church in a tranquil park area. Also called Church of the Vow, is a beautiful church in Neoclassical style. Built as thanks to the Virgin for protecting the city from cholera epidemic, 1832. Inspired by Pallado's Italian Renaissance style, opened by Bishop Dominique Galvano, 1852. The white marble statue by Giovanni Panni crowned the façade. très belle église, toujours ouverte mais j'y ai déposé 3 bougies veilleuses de neuvaines pour Notre Dame et Saint Antoine de Padoue qui ont été enlevé des présentoirs au bout d'un jour. Lorsque j'y suis retourné, quelle déception. Ce geste d'amour et de prière que je leur ai chuchoté en posant mes bougies acquiert pour moi une valeur immense de dévotion et de foi et ces bougies allumées prolongeaient ma prière mais par un geste irrespectueux et inacceptable tout a été retiré car les bougies achetées hors de chez eux leur a déplu.
