The first ever place in Nice where we tried socca. Although queuing for 40 minutes, the wait was worth while as what we received was perfectly tasty plate of food. The reason for 4 stars, not 5 is that we then tried socca in Nice Old Port area a few days later and THAT is worth 5 stars. Rene Socca has the longest queues in Nice, that must mean popularity, loads of French amongst tourists too. I'd say go there if you won't get another chance to try socca. It's a little stodgier than a competitor but flavour and overall experience of trying something very special to the area is worth the wait in the queue.

Avoid! Such a rude service! Never ever again! No idea why people make such a line… guess it’s only for tourists! We got some food with my friend and we took a sit and guess what… the waiter was super rude and asked us to go away as we did it want to order drinks. The lady who was selling us food never mentioned we have to buy drinks! We could not leave with plates so we had to eat while standing! Mamy tables were empty! Then he complained we even stand! And was calling other waiters to see us and they were lounging… happy we made theirs day! But really… will never understand this aggression while you can normally talk to your clients!

The socca was good - but a little flat in taste, but we could add salt and pepper to taste. Also had anchovies pie, which was also a little seasonless, but anchovies was good. Location is also good and you can pay with card, at least for drinks. For socca not sure, as you have to order separately and we paid with cash there. But the service was rather rude, we waited really long for anyone. I finally went in to order but was sent out as "waiter will come". Although we had already waited and still waited then. Also, none of the staff was wearing masks... and the tables were sticky and not very clean. So not impressed.

Nice little open area for seating, weather was great as well this day too. You first order food at the food counter. Then you can take a seat where a waiter will come and get your drink order. We got Socca, pissaladiere, an olive slice of pizza and lastly some sort of breaded fish bites (sorry I don't know the name). My favorite was the pissaladiere, this was really nice as well as the fish bites, nice to spray a bit of lemon juice on it. Had 2 different glasses of Rose to wash down the food. Nice chill place to relax and eat.

This is the first time we tried Socca and I loved it. I cannot comment whether this place has the best Socca in the Nice. It did meet my expectations. Also, the prices are very reasonable - just three euros for marketing for For the people who don't know what Socca - it's basically a chickpea flour based crispy pizza. This place is well known for their Socca. We had to stand in a long quue to get the Socca. Try this place. If not you, there are many places in Nice you can find Socca.
