Read moreI did the mini Parfum Workshop at Fragonard in Eze. The way it was described on the website, I was looking forward to 45 min of learning about combining different smells and then (because this is the meaning of „personal“ perfume to me) actually choosing from different essences to create your smell. Instead for the bigger part of the workshop the huge group listened to the same speech about the factory like the one you get on the free tour. Afterwards, we had the „choice“ of one smell (which I didn’t like) picked out for us and could only decide on the proportion of base, heart and top note. This then took me maybe 7 minutes to „create“ a 15ml eau de toilette (not perfume) which I will not want to use myself. In the end it was 15 more minutes just advertisement talk about the different skincare products… I was very disappointed, because I was looking forward to something like this a lot - which was why I decided to try again at a different perfumery. I ended up paying not even twice the price (58€, Fragonard was 30€) for 100ml (!!) of eau de parfum (!!) at Galimard. With this workshop we had two hours to choose from over 100 essences. Apart from being really happy because I really was able to compose my personal favorite smell ever with the help of the staff there, it was also just a blissful experience itself in a smaller group and less...
Read moreThe English tour by Italian lady started off good, it was very short but interesting. Then it went downhill, lengthy pushy sales pitch afterwards telling what is the discount buying a larger pack, what is the discount if combining different fragrances, what is the price for every single item. Bear in mind nobody in the tour asked and others around also looked to be slightly taken back by all the cost information. Then we tried to walk around but the guide kept coming and offering product information, depsite we politely declined multiple times already. I wonder what is the commission the tour guides get because I have never encountered anyone being this pushy before. Unfortunately we left without buying anything although the fragrances were wonderful because we were not able to explore the shop at our own leisure. Great concept but very bad...
