Eze Village in France is a picturesque haven that seems plucked straight from the pages of a fairy tale. Nestled high atop a cliff on the French Riviera, this charming medieval village is a captivating blend of history, beauty, and tranquility. From the moment I arrived, I was transported to another era. The narrow cobblestone streets, adorned with vibrant flowers and quaint boutiques, exude an old-world charm that is simply enchanting. Walking through Eze Village felt like stepping into a time capsule, where each corner held secrets waiting to be uncovered. As I meandered through the labyrinthine alleys, the stunning panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea left me awe-struck. The sight of azure waters merging with the horizon was a testament to the sheer natural beauty that envelops this magical village. Eze Village is renowned for its preserved medieval architecture, and visiting the Jardin Exotique was a true delight. This exotic garden perched on the edge of the cliff offered a sensory feast, with a kaleidoscope of succulents and cacti against the backdrop of the sparkling sea. The vantage point provided by the garden gave me a newfound appreciation for the harmony between human craftsmanship and the surrounding landscape. Exploring Eze Village's art galleries, craft shops, and charming cafés was a joyous endeavor. The locals' warm hospitality and genuine smiles added an extra layer of warmth to my experience, making me feel like an honorary member of the village. One of the highlights of my visit was the Eze Castle, which stands as a testament to centuries of history. The castle's ruins offer a glimpse into the village's past and provided me with an opportunity to reflect on the generations that have shaped this unique place. Eze Village captures the essence of the French Riviera's allure in its purest form. It's a destination that invites you to slow down, savor each moment, and immerse yourself in the beauty of both the natural and man-made wonders. If you're seeking a destination that seamlessly blends history, culture, and breathtaking scenery, Eze Village is an absolute treasure waiting to be explored.

Eze is up there with the most beautiful villages you will ever go to in the Cote d'Azur. It's an easy hop on the train from any station. The train drops off for easy access to the popular beach. There is a bus stop outside too to take you up to the village, it can't be walked unless you like scaling mountains. The bus is packed and not really reliable but it's cheap. We got an Uber up after waiting in the heat for 20 mins (you could share the cost with a couple of others at the bus stop, lots of people were doing this) Uber cost is about €17 When you reach the top there is still a climb, only 10 mins or so, lots of steps all through the village so it's not for people with mobility issues. For those who brave it the rewards are great, it's beautiful at every turn. At the top there are gardens with the most spectacular views. It's a €7 entry, if you have tickets in advance you don't have to queue, it's about a 10/15 min wait to buy tickets on the gate. There are various shops and art galleries throughout and the most amazing place selling mandarin liquor DO go in and try it, it's amazing. Coming back we didn't even attempt the bus, there were at least 80 people at the stop, the busses aren't large. We called another cab and snaked down the hill in the air con Top tips, taxi up, take water (there is a casino shop right where the taxi drops you) buy your garden tickets in advance to save queuing in the heat, wear grippy soled shoes (lots of people were slipping on the marble steps)
