Accommodation: 2 bed basic - Clean, tidy and up together. Slightly cramped for storage space and no oven (not massive issues as we knew this anyway).||Site:||Outdoor pool complex - Newly built and brilliant fun for all. 3 great slides and perfect kids splash area with smaller slides. Lovely outdoor pool and lounger area (weather dependant! Unfortunately, only a couple short spells for us, but we enjoyed it while we could).||Indoor Pool Complex - I think the size of this pool suited our children (7&8, beginner swimmers), as we could see them at all times. 2 indoor slides, shallow Bay Area and short river swim area under the slides.|I think the indoor complex is in need of an update though as the changing facilities are basic and the whole place looks slightly dated. That said, we went swimming every day and the kids throughly enjoyed themselves. (We have been to Des Ormes the last 2 years, so the comparison comes from the indoor complex they have, which is very impressive).||Adventure Park/High Ropes - We didn’t actually manage to go on this, but had a look and it looks absolutely brilliant (one for next year).||Volleyball & Pétanque pitches - Again, didn’t manage to play as the weather was not on our side, but something we are looking forward to next year!||City Stade & Bouncy Castle - spent an hour or two over the course of the week here. Kids loved the small bouncy castle and managed to get in a small sided game of football on the sports pitch.||Small Kids Play area - Kids spent 20-30mins here when we first arrived. Basic small park on stones.||Shop - Very basic food wise. They do Croissants and bread, but unfortunately we were late risers every day so they never had any left. Luckily the site is a 4/5 minute walk away from an absolutely amazing boulangerie and the supermarket (I think this maybe plays into what they have available onsite as it would be hard to compete with what is only few minutes walk away).||Laundry - Used most days to dry our towels and swimwear as the sun wasn’t doing it for us.||Onsite restaurant/food - Didn’t eat at the Le Prad as seemed a bit overpriced and fancy for what we were after.|We had burgers and hot dogs with fries on our first night at the snack area (we didn’t eat on site again! Overpriced and underwhelming. Also, the beer I bought seemed overpriced at 8Euros, so again, didn’t buy another drink all week from there.||Entertainment - We came right at the end of August and we did not use the kids club, so cannot comment too much.|We did however watch the final show of the season on the Friday which was performed by all the entertainment staff and we throughly enjoyed it. I do feel some of the entertainment could start a bit earlier though, especially for those with kids.|The show was performed on the stage within a huge white marquee/tent. They do also have external performers who come in on other evenings, but we didn’t manage to see any of these.|One thing I did notice, which seemed very positive! The relationship between the entertainment staff and the owners of the park seemed very good and they were all very appreciative of each other and all smiles, laughter and full of admiration! You don’t always see/get this with management/owners and the staff, but it was very visible at the end of the last show, which was nice to see.||Location - The location of the site is very close to Benodet and its lovely beach. Luckily we had a clear/sunny spell on our 2nd day and spent a few hours on the beach and in the sea, then walked up the estuary and got a small boat over to Saint-Marine and found a lovely creperie overlooking the small bay. |Not far away are both Quimper and Concaeneua which we visited. Quimper for the market, cathedral and wander around and Concaeneua for the walled town and harbourside. I’m sure they are more local places to visit next year!||We visited La Playce in Quimper on the last day as it was raining hard and this place looked brilliant. The kids did bowling, Parkour, arcade games and a fun immersive game. The other areas were closed due to being out of season (start of Sep), but we’d go back again in season to get involved in the other stuff.|Pandaventure - Soft play nearby which we were going to visit on the last day but was only open weekends and Wednesday out of season.|We did find this with a few things onsite and offsite for our last 2 days as our holiday did rollover into September.||Slight negative: loo roll and hand soap in the communal toilets within the pool area and around the site. This should be a non negotiable.||Summary - The weather definitely hampered our holiday this year and we had multiple torrential downpours! However, we did manage to get out and about to visit this part of Brittany and spend time within the site enjoying the facilities on offer.|I think we will be back again next year, as we haven’t quite seen all we wanted to see and been able to use all the facilities on site at there best. Here’s hoping to better weather next year! ☀️ We have had a great time and the kids have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I would recommend this site for families with infant/junior school...
Read moreThis is a nice campsite, when i was doing my research it was with teenagers in mind and I'm not sure this is the place to be (ours are 15 and17), however if you have young children the site/entertainment/pools are perfect, id be wary of photos on websites as they make slides look better than they are, that said the camp is very near Benodet town which has a beautiful beach and some nice cafes and restaurants. ||||Accommodation - The cabins are very good quality and very clean, we had the basic model, we booked a cabin with 3 bed rooms as our boys need space but you would be hard pushed to put 6 people in here. Nice area outside and a built in barbecue. We forgot that we had to bring our dirty linen to reception on leaving and the girl was very nice about it, we did however leave the cabin spotless when we left. ||||Pools - Not great outside, extremely small as are the slides, the teens stayed away mostly which was a pity as the second week was warm and they wanted to be outside. Inside pools are better which was handy the first week when the weather was bad.||||Restaurant - We ate here 3 nights and each night we were charged for food that was never brought out, thankfully we checked our bill, this is quiet serious as the food can be pricey so we never went back after the 3rd time, the waitress's work hard here (in particular Agnes) but there isn't much presence of management, an older gentleman was coming and going but I'm not sure what his role is. The restaurant closes Monday and Tuesday but you can get snacks there, the restaurant food is nice enough though.||||Inside bar - Again there was only one maybe two people working in the bar at times when it got busy while other staff members were just standing around talking to each other, like the restaurant no one was taking charge or giving directions, we were also over charged for drinks we didn't order but we got it sorted. We ended up walking into town for drinks and dinner the second week. They have a dance floor and two pool tables but the cues were in bad shape but only €2 to play, they also have a small arcade at the back near the toilets but it's shabby. ||||The outdoor bar with the plastic furniture is ok but it's not comfortable sitting for longer than one drink, the indoor bar is dark and loud, there is no way you could have a conversation with anyone, i understand the need for music to give a vibe but this was awful. The furniture is dated and the place needs a good overhall, drinks are expensive here (except wine). ||||Snack bar - it's in the entertainment area which is very big and holds lots of people. Pizzas are lovely here but some of the food just is overpriced, nice beers on tap. ||||Entertainment area - as above it's good, obviously it was in French and i wouldn't expect anything else and again if you have small kids they would be very happy. ||||Maintenance/Reception - excellent service from both.||||Teen Club - We read the weekly line up and were impressed but when the boys went up some nights for 9pm there wasn't anything happening so they left. ||||There is a great Acro Bat climbing assault course here, we booked it but it was cancelled due to the weather which was the right thing to do, great reports about this but obviously you have to pay for it €84 for a family of 4 so you will only do it once. ||||To close i think there is great potential here, the campsite is in a gorgeous area with lots of places to visit but i would say be careful when taking into consideration your children's age. We were in La Mouettes las year and it was run so much better and was more stylish and comfortable. The people working in this site were very friendly as we have found all over Brittany , but this site needs...
Read moreFirst visit and delighted with our experience- already planning next year. Stayed in a 2 bed 5 person premium- perfect for a family of 4 with a 9 yr old & 6 yr old sharing room. Accommodation spotless and equipped with all we needed- 4 ring hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle , microwave and plenty of utensils /cookware etc. If u are thinking about laundry...i hope u have a big plan for some one else to do ALL your laundry during and after your holiday. ....BUT, if not- i can confirm that, our accommodation included a decent clothes horse that we ( no..."I") used regularly. Also- there's a launderette on site. €6.00 for a small machine and bigger machines also...also dryers. Accommodation had decking area and we ate outside most evenings/ BBQd . Great Supermarket only a 7 or 8 min walk away, with lots of fresh food/salads/fish and food items handy for cooking. Some lovely restaurants also at the sea front ( 15 min walk) and also, a pizza/ burger/fries option available at campsite restaurant. Brilliant swimming pool indoors- great slides, plenty of space- we went twice a day. Outdoor pool was not heated during our first week- we were there on May 3rd ( weather was changeable/bit cool) but during our second week it was open and heated. 9 year old loved the tree climbing/experia (mother not so keen) On campsite: a few little playgrounds, a bouncy castle area, a basketball area and other sports sections we didn't visit but saw- plenty to keep kids busy, and a safe spot for kids to wander a little. Small shop on grounds of site ,but if you want a fresh coffee in the morning, u will need to wait til 11am! Quiet bar open in evenings...but we were gone by 9pm...I think there was a bit of karaoke/ disco . Kids Club: Massive thanks to Lou & Chloe who welcomed our kids everyday at kids club. They were also leading the Kids Disco every night and- for most of our holiday, Chloe and Lou were the friendly staff who were always out and about and available for any advice or help. Other staff also always helpful and courteous- there is an info centre on site with plenty of info about local tourist attractions. | loved the location and visited Quimper a few days (beautiful) and Locronan (gorgeous medieval village) and Cap Coz beach- lovely beach about 15 min drive away. Highly recommend this site. Lovely facilities, lovely atmosphere, great staff / great welcome. Fab...
