Musée de la Pêche — Attraction in Quimper

I dragged myself to this museum to kill time while waiting for a bus and my goodness am I glad I did! The focus on all aspects of fishing - from the boats to nets to ropes to the animals to the canning and industrialisation - is strong, the aesthetic is lovely, dioramas are fantastic, and many of the animals are hand taxidermied! What a surprise! One would think something not too exciting, but wow! The models showing net fishing development and how they deploy in 3 dimensions are awesome. But the highlight is the fishing boat you can go on yourself. The bridge has switches and buttons that will amaze you that you can touch and switch. The engine room is a treat and as an American I realized the no damn way would you be able to have that kind of access in a culture obsessed with liability and suing....

Nous avons énormément apprécié notre visite au musée, qui est remarquablement bien construit et offre une multitude de choses à voir et à apprendre.

Le musée offre une mine d'informations sur la fabrication des bateaux, leur utilisation, ainsi que les méthodes de pêche d'hier et d'aujourd'hui… Les vitrines, les reproductions, et les maquettes sont superbes et très instructives. De plus, le prix d'entrée est très raisonnable : gratuit pour les enfants et seulement 5€ pour les adultes en tarif plein.

Le personnel est très souriant et accueillant, et des marchepieds sont gentiment proposés pour permettre aux enfants de mieux voir les expositions. La visite du chalutier à la fin est exceptionnelle et nous a beaucoup plu, avec tout le mobilier et la les photos qui aident à mieux imaginer la vie à bord.

Nous avons passé plus d'une heure dans le musée avec nos deux enfants de 3 et 6 ans, et ce fut un moment vraiment agréable. Merci pour cette belle...
