Garfield Park Field House is steeped in history and phenomenal architecture from the 1800’s. It’s the most beautiful building on the west side. The Gold Dome is flake 18k Gold leaf. The interior feels like a step back in time rich in architectural details of marble and imported stone, and carved wood. Opulent despite its age. The field house has a roller skating night and free skate rentals. Many community centered classes, an outdoor pool and fitness classes for all ages. Worth the visit and best all it’s...

An great Landmark that has great beauty and city views. The Golden Dome needs to have some upgrades and renovations (which will be happening soon). They have plenty of programs and activities for kids and adults which you can see on their website. The park is absolutely mammoth in size and stretches from Lake Street to Jackson and it absolutely beautiful place to walk through. It is also close to the conservatory Green Line stop, so it is very convenient to commute to on public...

I did not like my children going to west Garfield field house for summer camp !!! That is not a good place to send your children... The young children they hire doesn’t watch you children , they can’t control the children and plus don’t know how to talk to your children plus adults... All the money they get for per child the food should be better and a okay place with no central air...throw the kids out in the hot heat.....

Always an enjoyable visit. You reserve a timeslot and can pay online. Parking was challenging. Lot was full but someone was leaving as we were about to try someplace else. Staff very friendly. Kids indoor area was under construction when we visited in February 2025. Amazing variety of plants from different climates. Cost is free for Chicago residents 5 to 10 for others. Illinois teachers and veterans free as well.
