The 345 Art Gallery is an experience that every black person should have. The place is conveniently placed on the west side of Chicago right off the green line. It’s easy to get to and you do not have a hard time finding parking. I attended their Art & House Cigar Social. When you walk in, you’re greeted by smiling faces. The vibe made me feel like I was at a family reunion and the staff were all my favorite cousins. Lol. Their patio area had amazing lighting with comfortable seating options. The community manager from the Mayor’s office came out to talk about the “Quality of Life” plan (look it up) and provided surveys about what we really need/want in OUR communities. So dope!! The art needs it’s own review. Breathtaking. There were even artist working on projects during the event. It was really cool to pick their minds. Everyone was so friendly. During the event, there was a raffle. My friend won tickets to a Kevin Hart show!! Wow. The drinks were strong and their rum punch was amazing! Not to mention the TACO TRUCK!! Everyone was given popcorn towards the end. Sooo good! The DJ kept everyone moving and the host had everyone laughing. I’m ashamed that this is my first time stopping by but it won’t be my last. 10/10...
Read moreMy family and I attempted to support an event at this venue. I am aware that not every place is appropriate for children, which is why I specifically look up policies and check before I bring my child. This place specifically says “good for kids” on the google listing. The staff at the door held the door open for us (which is the only reason this isn’t a 1-star review), and we were in the place no longer than 5 minutes when my child excitedly said “wooow!” Another staff person then stated, “he needs to go outside” (in the rain). I am sure he can’t be suggesting what I think, so I ask for clarification, and he said, “Yes, he has to go outside. He can’t be making all that noise.” You’re asking a child to stand outside in the rain, because he made noise? That’s absurd. Again, I understand everywhere isn’t suited for children, and if he’s making more noise than desired, the reasonable action would be to let me know that, so I can address the situation, but to state he needs to “stand outside” at the first sign of noise? And this establishment specifically says “good for kids”? Crazy...
Read moreArt is what you make it and this place displays it well🤗!!! I attended an art section with some peers from COFI- community organization family issues. We cope with families creating more platforms to be heard. The fact that 345 had so much art work involving children, violence, leadership (to name a few) really touched my heart!! The place is so welcoming, nothing but good vibes and very spacious🤗. I also love how events can be hosted for the children💖💖💖. A lot of times these new places only want adult fun but, what about our youth!! Anyhow, I’m so ecstatic that this place is another I will be seeking and also refer to others. Thanks Correy and the artist( he was so patient lol). By the way my art was the best lol, just kidding we all did great. We all loved it🖤🦾🖤🦾 Can’t...
