Blankenburg Castle — Attraction in Blankenburg

Ziemlich enttäuschend!!!! Nach den ganzen Rezensionen bin ich 225km gefahren.... für was? Für ein Aussichtsfoto und das war's? Die große Burg ist komplett abgesperrt. Nirgends kommt man rein wegen Baufälligkeit. Genauso sieht auch der ganze Schuppen aus. Baufällig.

Daher hat man auch in 2 Minuten Alles gesehen. Eine Führung ist gar nicht möglich und die "Ausstellung" sind 5 Whiteboards mit paar Fotos dran und was zu lesen - Ende.

Es ist SEHR schade das der Verein zur Erhaltung nicht mehr unterstützt wird. Dieses Schloss/diese Burg gehört zum Ort dazu, könnte DAS Wahrzeichen sein und DER Touristenmagnet. Ich bin immerhin auch von sehr weit gekommen um es anzuschauen. Da ist die Politik gefragt !

Ich finde es dennoch aber nur fair, das man die Touristen, die von sehr weit her kommen, darüber informiert das sie eine Baustelle erwartet. Sonst nichts. Man bekommt quasi nix zu sehen. Man kann nicht mal die Burg von Außen anschauen. Drumherumgehen oder sonstiges nicht möglich. Der Park ist schnell angeschaut und auch kein wirkliches Highlight. Am Schönsten von Allem ist das Schlosshotel.

Hier bei den Rezi's werden lediglich die Highlights gepostet. Immer die selben Fotos. Hatte mich schon stutzig gemacht. Die Realität ist, das alles voller Gerüste steht und ansonsten öde anzuschauen ist - wie zum Beispiel dieser jämmerliche Brunnen.

The castle is was still in renovation when we visited. There is a friendly guide but only in german. We got to see the inside and a small tour of the castle. If you happen to be in Blankenburg then it is certainly one of the places to visit. I found the trip to the castle itself very enjoyable. Be prepared to walk for about 10-15 minutes uphill. The views from the castle are very scenic and the surrounding gardens and...

Having visited during a workshop organized in the Castle, have to say i waa very shocked to see how the castle is falling apart. Many sections were closed due to lack of maintenance and the areas open to public was poorly maintained. The castle is indeed beautiful and has a great view of surrounding areas and forest and thus huge potential to be renovated and maintained and opened to tourists. Hope to see it in better...
