ZOO BRAUNSCHWEIG "Noah's Ark" Uwe Wilhelm GmbH — Attraction in Brunswick

We visited this little private zoo with family. The price is good, but the exhibits are not great. There are some animals we consider rodents/pests, such as raccoons, skunks, squirrels, etc, but also porcupines, birds, little monkeys, barnyard animals, and otters. The downside was the seeming lack of attention for or monitoring of animal welfare. We watched children feed ice cream to monkeys and climb into a ferret enclosure. The worst part was seeing two tigers (and soon, lions) in a very small enclosure, camels with floppy humps (usually signifying they are dehydrated), and newborn goats struggling to nurse on their mother's extremely full udders (which still had afterbirth on them) thanks to people continuously picking them up (which isn't allowed). No smoking signs were posted in certain areas, which led to groups smoking in the eating and playground areas instead. Dogs are allowed in for a fee and there are two play structures/areas, as well as a couple restaurant/Imbiss stands that are reasonably priced (2.60 for fries). If you look at everything at a leisurely pace, play on the sets, and eat some food, this zoo will last you two...

Very nice large ZOO, loads of interesting animals to see. We went with family and kids between 9 and 14 years old, everyone found something interesting to see for themselves. You can play and feed goats and chicken which was a good attraction for everyone. There is a little coffee truck which was located at the beginning of the tour, we thought that's the only place to buy coffee, the wait was so so long bc that are making 1 coffee at the time which was frustrating as was hot and all sitting places were taken, anyway as we went deeper into the ZOO it turned out there is many more coffee places which were bigger and had better sitting places. Also the food and beverages are generally very cheap. Nice...

Den Braunschweiger Zoo kenne ich noch aus meiner Kindheit. Damals fand ich ihn allerdings nicht so schön und habe ihn deshalb als Erwachsener auch nicht mehr besucht. Als meine Tochter allerdings ca 1 Jahr alt war, sind wir dort das erste Mal wieder hingefahren. Und was soll ich sagen, ich war positiv überrascht. Der Zoo ist ideal für Familien mit kleinen Kindern. Gleich am Anfang des Zoos sind die süßen Waschbären der erste Kindermagnet, weil sie sich füttern lassen. Weiter bietet der Zoo Pferde, Esel, Kamele und Ziegen, die sich ebenfalls füttern und streicheln lassen. Natürlich bietet der Zoo auch noch andere Tiere, die beobachtet werden können. Was den Zoo allerdings für die Kinder so toll macht, sind die beiden großen und vielseitigen Spielplätze für Kleinkinder bis Kinder. Klettern, Hüpfen, Schaukeln, Rutschen, Elektromotorräder (kostenfrei) und vieles mehr. Und was unseren Kindern besonders gut gefällt, das bespielbare Mäusehaus! Während die Kleinen dort spielen, können die Großen versuchen das Rätsel zu lösen.

Sicherlich darf der Zoo nicht mit den großen Zoos in Hannover, Hamburg und Co verglichen werden. Aber für Familien mit kleinen Kindern (die in der näheren Umgebung wohnen) ist er groß genug für einen Vormittags- oder Nachmittagsausflug mit Tieren und schönen Spielmöglichkeiten. Wir haben deshalb auch ein Jahresticket, insbesondere, da sich dieses sehr schnell rentiert und so auch ein Zweistundenaufenhalt (und sei es nur zum Spielplatz) kein...
