One of the busiest hubs in Darmstadt where you can find all your basic needs from Starbucks to malls and banks like Commerzbank. Very good connectivity with respect to trams & buses to Darmstadt or Dieberg and it's very close to TU Darmstadt. If your looking for some Indian spices, you will find a store called Safran right behind the street after commerzbank with all the Indian stuff you can imagine, from turmeric powder, fresh curry leaves and green chilli to even Priya mouth watering pickles and Maggi noodles ( mama bas do minute) . Must visit if you're feeling nostalgic and away from India for some time.

I have been in this place at many different times in the day, and different days of the year and its probably the most iconic place in Darmstadt. To be honest there are a lot places in the city I don't find particular beautifull but this is not one of them. On Sundays is more relaxed as there are less people around and for those who like lots of movement there are a lot of people during the fests. When I am not coming here to do some shopping, l just like to enjoy a nice espresso and relax.

Writing in English because I believe only a tourist would look this up. This is what whe usually call “Middle” of the Darmstadt. Near the Ludwig’s Monument (which is seen in photos) there are many little shops and a Shopping Center aswell. You are close to the bank, a little Starbucks, many restaurants. Only problem with Luisenplatz is that some drunk people do drink there at night time.

Luisenplatz is a beautiful public square located in the heart of Darmstadt, Germany. The square is named after Grand Duchess Luise of Hesse-Darmstadt and is surrounded by stunning architecture and historic landmarks. With its wide-open space and central location, Luisenplatz is a popular gathering spot for locals and tourists alike.

At the center of the square stands the iconic Ludwigsäule, a tall column that was erected in honor of Grand Duke Ludwig I of Hesse-Darmstadt. The column features intricate carvings and details, making it a popular spot for visitors to take photos and admire the architecture. Surrounding the column are several fountains, which add to the beauty and charm of the square.

One of the most striking features of Luisenplatz is the impressive State Theatre building, which dominates the western side of the square. The building, which dates back to the early 20th century, features a grand facade and an ornate entrance that is sure to impress visitors. The State Theatre is known for its world-class performances, and a visit to the square would not be complete without catching a show or performance.

On the eastern side of the square, visitors will find the historic Old Palace, a beautiful Baroque-style building that once served as the residence of the ruling family of Hesse-Darmstadt. The Old Palace is now home to the Hessian State Museum, which features a vast collection of art, artifacts, and cultural exhibits that showcase the history of the region. A visit to the museum is a must for anyone interested in the rich history and culture of Darmstadt and the surrounding areas.

Also für alle etwas dabei.

It's a very nice place which is located close to a lot of essential city places. The luisencener is right here and most places are accessible by a short walk. On top of that you can meet wonderful people and get tram bus and taxi connections to almost anywhere. The night life is nice and the only downside is that at certain times a lot of hobos and junkies are around here but this can also be a plus because they are usually very nice and offer you their heroine or life tips. Truly nice upstanding hobos and junkies around this place in Darmstadt. Actually now that I think about it there have been a lot of stabbings and fights here but they only involve turks for some reason and they leave you alone as long as you don't purposely try to...
