Die karolingische Kirche ist noch in großen Teilen im Original erhalten: das Mittelschiff mit seinen kleinen Rundbogenfenstern im Obergaden, die flache Decke, die Säulenarkaden, die Seitenschiffe und die drei Altarräume. Einzigartig in Deutschland sind die Säulenarkaden mit Blattkapitellen und Kämpfern. Die Figuren des Heiligen Antonius und Paulus von Theben am Hauptportal an der Nordseite, die Säulenkapitelle und der barocke Hochaltar sind kulturhistorische Schätze.

Took a train from Bad Nauheim today (Thursday, 6 April) to visit the church as the church website says it's open Thursday - Sunday (see below). Sign on church door says Friday - Sunday. So disappointed ☹️. Maybe update the church website so that others are not disappointed. Or am I mistaken?

Without doubt the most interesting church in Frankfurt. The foundations were laid in 830 making it one of the oldest churches in Germany. Of special significance are the carolingian capitals which draw on Oriental influences introduced via the imperial Abby in Fulda. I rate the Church higher because it's the worship place and equally respectable for the followers of all the religions. This church is quite old and it's also the part of small fort.
