A Taste of Sri Lanka in the Heart of Höchst
Tucked away in the charming neighborhood of Höchst just outside Frankfurt, Ceylonilicious is a small, cozy gem of a restaurant that feels more like stepping into a Sri Lankan home than a commercial eatery. Run by a warm and welcoming couple from Sri Lanka, this intimate spot serves up authentic street food straight from the heart—and the stovetop.
On my visit, dinner was a family affair. I shared a meal with their delightful twin boys, who cheerfully washed up afterward, while the parents served up a soul-satisfying spread. The night’s menu featured chicken, jackfruit, and eggplant curries, paired perfectly with beans and onion sambol over a bed of fragrant rice. Each bite was a nostalgic journey, transporting me back to my childhood in Sri Lanka with its deep, comforting flavors.
While the curries stay true to their roots, the typical fiery Sri Lankan chili kick has been thoughtfully toned down for the local German palate—without sacrificing depth or authenticity.
Ceylonilicious isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. One you’ll want to return to...

The woman that owns it speaks perfect English and she asked was I hungry or looking for something light. I asked for a surprise and she gave me the Kottu lamb and it was lovely. Everything is Chopped together with lamb curry in a dry bowl with eggs. A perfect high protein bowl if they kescr out the Rotti. But I really enjoyed.
She was very friendly and asked if I would like to try her aunts Daal lentil curry. This was also lovely and she told me the difference between the popadoma from both cultures from sri Lanka. I like mine darker. (her husbands favourite) she likes them lighter from her culture.
Lovely couple. Friendly and tasty.
Will for sure come back to try some of their...

We ordered the Sri Lankan rice bowl with mutton and chicken curry, along with the traditional mutton kothu, and were truly impressed. The flavors were perfectly balanced, capturing the essence of Sri Lankan spices and fresh ingredients. The prawn fry is another standout dish, with its crispy, savory goodness that leaves you wanting more.
The authentic curry bowls and kothu are a must-try here—each bite transports you to the heart of Sri Lanka. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy genuine Sri...
