This bridge is amazing! It's incredible to think it's been working for centuries, and the timber structure looks as sturdy as ever. Watching it open and close for ships is a real spectacle – it's like stepping back in time. You can really feel the history when you walk across it, imagining all the people and goods that have passed this way before. A must-see for anyone interested in engineering or local history!

I love this place in Greifswald. I go there when I feel home sick, and enjoy watching other good people around. Some of them are fishing, kids playing near the beach make my day. Strongly recommended place if you are in Greifswald and wanna enjoy your day in an amazing place! The bus is also available from the main bus stop ZOB, taking the number 2 bus to "Wieck Brücke", 'NOT Schönwalde 2'.

Ein Lehrstück über Handwerkskunst! Es fordert einem Respekt ab, dass so eine alte Zugbrücke noch immer einwandfrei funktioniert. Und man muss schmunzeln, dass die Restaurierung teurer war, als der Erstbau. Wer denkt da nicht an den stolzen 3-Master unserer Marine! Aber auch Greifswald-Wieck kann stolz sein auf die "Greif", die heute sicher vor Kiel unter vollen Segeln herumshippert! Meine Empfehlung: Wer den "Utkiek" noch nicht kennt, wo man beim Frühstück auf die Jasmunder Wieck schauen kann, wer noch nie die Parade der wunderbarsten Segelboote gesehen hat, die auf den Greifswalder Bodden hinausziehen, wenn die Brücke im Stundentakt öffnet, der kennt ein Kleinod unserer Heimat noch nicht! Seht es Euch an, wie schon Caspar David Friedrich es gesehen hat! Und ich frage mich heute, warum bin ich weggegangen aus dieser Idylle?

Good to visit this area on a sunny day. The beach and a few restaurants are close by, as well as places to buy fresh fish, or "fishbrötchen" (fish sandwiches).

This bridge is pretty much the only way to cross the Ryck river this far down the river. The bridge also opens for boats so you may need to wait...
