I came to this place for a relaxing day on holiday visiting family here in Germany. I started off in the swimming pool with my family. I went over to the water slide area and rode two of them, which were a lot of fun. I decided to go on the highest slide and as I came to the end of the ride, I was thrown off onto the cement ground where I slid many feet on my back. I ripped up my elbows, back, buttocks and legs. The worker there put bandages on the bleeding open wounds of my elbows and said I was fine. I was not fine and my family and I left, asking for a refund after telling them what happened. Two men (one was the guy who bandaged me) came to speak to me, or I should said bully me. They said it was my fault because this never happened to anyone before. They repeatedly blamed me, refusing any responsibility for what had happened. They would only give me half of my money back and they tried to get me to fill out a paper, which I did not fill out or sign. Today I am pretty banged up and urge anyone who wants to go here to find an alternative. The slide is obviously dangerous because I was injured from it. The dismissive treatment I received from the people working there was appalling. They didn't care about me, but they seemed to care a lot about the 60 something euros they got from my family. If they had treated me with kindness and compassion and returned my money, I would not be...
Read moreThe main building is the same as before when it was called Wonnemar. There are a few new slides and the restaurant has been modernized. The Therme space is a new building with very modern styling, reminiscent of a contemporary hotel, with additional pools, a steam bath, a cold plunge and an in-pool cocktail bar - it's a nice addition, but at extra surcharge. The sauna space would cost even more. Visually all is not perfect, a lot of things still look unfinished, no working clocks, some construction still under way, no music etc. The cocktails at the bar are premixed and taste aweful. The restaurant food is quite nice, decent selection and yummy, albeit on the basic / cheap side, like you would get in every pool. One of two armbands simply would not work on lockers. Overall a neat alternative if you are in the area, but price/performance is...
Read moreThe slides are great fun but only open at 14:00 on a weekday, something not stated when you go on the slides page, only under the opening times on the website, which caught us out. The price is a bit high and doesn't seem to be less if you visit before the slides open, which are the main attraction for kids. We also had the fire alarm go off while we there and we had to evacuate. It told us to go outside which would have been great fun at 5 degrees in wet bathers, luckily the lady at the front counter let everybody stay indoors and handed out towels but I do wonder what their plan would be in a real emergency! Have everybody stand outside in wet bathers in winter? Overall, not quite worth the money, there is better...
