Of course it is beautiful, and we had a lovely day in Meissen and visiting this site. My mistake in ordering tickets online without fully realizing the tour was in German not English. I was using the English version of the website and made an assumption. So be careful when you buy tickets online to make sure you have the language correct. The staff at the ticket counter could have helped to fix the mistake, as it was clear we did not speak German and had signed up for a German speaking tour. The interactive tablet to me was quite distracting and not worth the effort so I stopped using it after the first floor. Short version: it's OK but I wouldn't really have missed it. The Dom is worth your time more...

Entering this late gothic style monument was breathtaking to say the least. There's so much to take in but my favourites were the porcelain "urns" which pay tributes to how it all started here. There are about five different exhibitions areas with each dedicated to either art works or Royal chambers with unbelievable gothic interior that's just mind blowing! It really pays to spend some time exploring this Castle. There are public lavatory and a café. Great place for kids. Must visit if you are...
