Konditorei Zieger Meißen — Restaurant in Meissen

We visited Meissen during the bank holiday and popped into Zieger for a coffee. Upon entering the café no one said hello back to us and it wasn't clear whether we could take a table or not. We picked a table by ourselves which was not a problem for us. We checked the drinks menu and after a couple of minutes we thought someone would come to take our orders. This did not happen so I went to the bar to place my order and even though there were two ladies behind the bar both of them completely ignored me not even looking at me or asking me whether I wanted to place an order. I walked back to my table and was about to put my jacket on to leave when we were asked whether we wanted to pay (?). At that point, all of my politeness left me and said we only wanted 2 cappuccinos. They came within a minute and tasted like water. Forget this place, nice outside but staff are rude and the coffee is not...

I was there 5 months ago and the experience was not good at all, the personal was not friendly and when I get my order the taste of the cake was also not the best too dry and without any flavour (I had already the same in other places) won't ever recommend this place either go again, this is sad because little things like this can totally affect your perspective of the city unfortunately because we were treated different than other clients around us just because we had one special request...

Langjährig guter Kuchen – leider enttäuschender Service

Wir waren in den vergangenen Jahren mehrfach im Rahmen unserer Radtour von Dresden aus in diesem Café und haben die Kuchen stets sehr genossen – geschmacklich nach wie vor sehr gut.

Gestern jedoch waren wir enttäuscht: Trotz sommerlichen Wetters waren draußen nur wenige Tische aufgestellt, alle bereits besetzt. Ich ging in das Café hinein, um mich nach Kuchen und der Option drinnen zu sitzen umzusehen, und wollte kurz darauf wieder raus, um die Platzsituation draußen nochmals zu prüfen. Dabei zeigte die Mitarbeiterin hinter der Theke deutlich missbilligende Gesten und Geräusche, offenbar mein Verhalten und das von zwei weiteren Damen. Auf Nachfrage erklärte sie, wir seien „einfach gegangen, ohne Auf Wiedersehen zu sagen“.

Diese Reaktion empfinde ich als unangemessen – zumal ich lediglich orientierungssuchend war. Leider war uns auch in der Vergangenheit aufgefallen, dass die Freundlichkeit hier nicht konstant ist. Innen wirkt das Café inzwischen etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

Wir schätzen Traditionsbetriebe sehr – aber gerade solche Orte müssen sich täglich neu um ihre Gäste bemühen. Der Eindruck, dass man hier eher erziehen als willkommen heißen möchte, hinterlässt ein ungutes Gefühl. Schade – wir werden künftig andere...
