I was at the Bloc Party concert. I was shocked by the sound quality. Honestly, I think it was the worst sound I’ve ever heard at a concert by a well-known artist. I’ve been to a lot of concerts, and this was the first time the sound felt more like torture than enjoyment. It literally sounded like the artists were singing from inside a tin can — or maybe even from a toilet.
I even had to walk around the venue trying to find a spot where it sounded at least somewhat better. First, I was standing center stage around the 8th row. Then I moved to the left side, then to the back near that big black wall-screen, then to the right. You know where the sound was best? Behind that black screen on the side (which, by the way, divided the venue in half). literally if you're already leaving, you can hear a normal sound
I have absolutely no idea how they managed to make the sound that terrible, but the vocals were barely audible (completely lacking clarity), and it felt like the midrange frequencies were just gone. I get that this kind of setup might work for a lo-fi or shoegaze concert — but not Bloc Party.
I won’t even get into the constantly buzzing mic during the first half of the show. And all of this happened despite the 10–15 people on stage adjusting equipment before the concert started.
If this is how the sound always is at concerts here, I’m not coming back. I see a lot of reviews here about the terrible sound, but apparently the owners don't care. Very sad for Munich.
I also want to note that they sent me a notification by email that the doors were open from 19:00, and the concert started at 20:00. In the end, the show started at 21:00, we stood for at least an hour waiting
Light show, security, amount of drinks are good. I was also able to pay by a card for a...
Read moreOverall not really bad but there are some points that make the venue less than ideal. If a band is playing there that you like it's still worth visiting, but I'd probably avoid going to just random concerts there.
The good:
Relatively well connected and easily reachable both with public transportation and by car.
Friendly staff
Not too overpriced beverages, with a good selection (for a concert event)
Even on sold out concerts it's not too overcrowded and there's always a bit of a breathing room.
The bad:
The sound could be better. It's not necessarily a bad sound, given the environment, but it could be improved.
I don't know if there's a proper ventilation system in place or not but it definitely seemed like there wasn't any kind of ventilation happening. Combined with people being allowed to smoke everywhere... and you get the picture.
The wardrobe seems pretty inefficient, eosecially when exiting it felt way overcrowded and understaffed, there also doesn't seem to be logic behind how they store the clothes which leads to employees spending up to a couple of minutes to find a single jacket. But at least there is a wardrobe...
Read moreYay for Sabaton, Nay for the location.
The location itself is just an old building used for vehicle assembly, which leads to huge pillars (more than 1m wide) standing in the way of an undisturbed concert experience.
The security team was unorganised as hell, for 6000 people to be coordinated it took way to long and people were queuing all over the place and back.
Also they were unfriendly, unable to scan online tickets, which had to be checked in at a seperate booth which lead to people being checked and then sent back out crossing the queue to check in.
NO EAR PLUGS TO BE FOUND... we've asked the security team, they didn't know, we asked the bar maid, she told us to ask the security team, who told us to ask the sound technicians, who didn't have anything and told us to check with the bar or the entrance, neither had any ear plugs.
The toilets were okay and the outside parking lot for smokers was okay as well.
This place can ruin the experience of a concert even when it's...
