a gothic-Baroque mix of design you will find in this 16th century castle. it was an important residence seat till the bavarian kingdom era. today is a museum of large collectible and art works. 3rd floor is work of religious antiquities from Monasteries. 2nd floor is archeological foundings. you will pass the kingscourt and princess Amelie's room till the arcades and the collection of artpaintings from the 17th century. 1st floor is the residence history and the changes through eras with rooms and collectibles. then you will finish the visit in the magnificent caves once made for guest entertainment. 2-3 hrs are recommended to explore in relaxation....

However, this renaissance castle is full of history, massive tapestries from the 1500s, and...

They have a very good collection of Van Dyck, Rubens, Bruegel (de elder) and their followers… Very impressive collection for this tiny city I must admit. And the venue is also quite nice, you would definitely feel like in a time machine, going back centuries… I cannot say the same for the staff, they are not very friendly, even when dealing with children. It is maybe the language barrier, they hardly speak 2 words of English, only German,...
