Fantastic museum! Beautiful building! Friendly family-run place! Even though we were late for the last tour, the lady told us very kindly on the phone to come anyway. The guide was brillianty enthusiastic and showed us the first floor that we had missed - like a private tour! Overall it's a 45-minute guided tour. My mum loved it - they have incredible music machines from late 19th/early 20th centuries. Whole orchestras packed into cupboard-like mechanical cabinets that play off of perforated sheets or metal disks. Amazing technology, something like early computers! Devices were placed in dance halls and large restaurants. Our kids loved that you could sit in each room and watch the machines play. Plus the building is a really well preserved palace from the renaissance times with Incredible original wall paintings. RECOMMENDED even if you are not super interested in musical cabinets! A really...

Very handicapped unfriendly (both with the facilities but more so with staff attitude). Staff needs to be better trained when interacting with handicapped customers in wheelchair and also international tourist in general. Their attitude seems to be rude and uncaring when to told a person in a wheelchair that they are in the way and they need to be moved out of the building. They do have an elevator but it is located outside of the building on the far side and very inconvenient to access. There are big groups of tourist from river cruises and the museum are almost like a factory churning out the tours (very robotic). Otherwise, an interesting small museum with interesting pieces of music history. Souvenirs shop seems to be on the...

Very disappointing experience at Siegfried's museum. I had been very careful in making sure the museum would be open. What I did not know was that the tours would occur only if there were 4 people. Add to that two rather "scattered" tour guides who seemed genuinely perplexed that someone had even showed up for a tour. A "local" person was there as well and she tried to explain the situation to the guides but she got exasperated with the women and left. Then another guide showed up and showed us a few items but that was it. It saddened me that the membership for MBSI dwindles and experiences like this do little to encourage people get...

A friend of mine recommended Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet Museum, even though they visited almost 20 years ago. I'm so glad I took their advice! The tour guide was absolutely superb—not only were they genuinely funny, expertly switching between German and English, but they were also incredibly knowledgeable and even good on the piano! Their passion for the collection really made the experience. It's a very niche experience, but I'm still scratching my head wondering how all those instruments play themselves with such precision. For the price, it's great value for money and well worth the experience. I highly recommend it!

What a brfilliant museum. We hjad a tour to ourselves and the museum staff allowed us to store our cases in a locked room. We had a good tour around of a number of different rooms containg lots of instruments and ouir guide gave us information about certain machines and demonstrated them. All of them were interesting and fascinating. It was so good to see so many working machines, some huge, some tiny and all producing wonerful music. There are also some very old wall and ceiling paintings in some of the rooms. Even though the tour is only 45 minutes it was good value for money
