Sweet little botanical garden, with three small greenhouses (one for tropicals, one for arid cacti, one is for employees only), but building another two. Loads of beautiful tropical and arid plants in such a small place, it's remarkable what they've managed to do.
Numerous beautiful paths, lots of variety when it comes to birds flitting around and singing. Lots of benches if you need a break, close to the S-train and street car. No entrance fees, but they do have an indoor and outdoor container for donations. Had we had questions, we could've asked a couple of employees we saw, busy watering and tending the outdoor plants.

Read moreAlthough not the biggest I've seen, the botanical Garden in Rostock is definitely worth a visit. There are tours on most sundays that are led by students of the faculty for biology in Rostock. I've not yet got to see the garden in summer but it is going to be nice I believe. In autumn you can bring your freshly picked mushrooms from the forest to get some help in identifying them or to learn about many other wild mushrooms growing...
