Stadtmuseum Schleswig — Attraction in Schleswig

Nice Museum, comprising of several buildings including the main building which is all about Schleswig and surrounds, going back to at least circa 800 AD, for me the most interesting part, also a couple of buildings housing quite good award-winning nature photography, and a Teddy Bear & toy museum. There is a small Cafe and museum shop, with limited souvenir opportunities - think small stuffed animal toys, postcards and fridge magnets. The cafe looks very cute, like an 19th century drawing room, but I didn't linger, so I don't know what the refreshments are like. All the buildings & exhibitions include stairs, so be prepared for that. There are also some interesting ancient stone artefacts in the museum grounds - which also have some bench seats to relax on and muse upon history (or eat your sandwiches). Ich war am Freitag zur Sonderausstellung 100 Jahre Gewerkschaftsarbeit in Schleswig

Immer wenn ich an der Nordseeküste bin, versäume ich es nicht, einen Abstecher rüber in das Stadtmuseum Schleswig einzuplanen. Die Fotoausstellungen sind immer einen Besuch wert! Die aktuelle Naturfotoausstellung hat mich total begeistert. Hohe Qualität, gut beschrieben und hervorragend kuratiert. Wie immer perfekt! Auch muss das Café unbedingt erwähnt werden. Immer wieder ein gelungener Abschluss des Besuches. Ich komme schon seit mehreren Jahren und habe noch nie erlebt, dass jemand unfreundlich war. Genau wie am vergangenen Sonntag. Die herzliche Freundlichkeit der jungen Dame (und ich sage bewusst herzlich und nicht professionell), die an diesem Tag Dienst hatte, trug mit dazu bei, aus dem Besuch ein rundum gelungenes Erlebnis zu machen.
