Hattsteinweiher — Attraction in Usingen

A nice pond close to the woods,woth cleanish water that it's safe to swim in. Fun for kids, and grown ups too. Close by there is a restaurant with decent food, beer and ice-cream. There are a lot of free parking spaces, and there are also showers and toilets. They charge 1 eur for each person, I believe it's because of corona tracking needs (when paying, you must fill in a form with contact tracing info.). All in all, a nice place to take a break from the city, and not as crowded as...

It is nice place for quick dip and also for camping and picnic. The water level is seperated in zones so it is also okay for non swimmers because there is safe line after which a depth of more than 1.39m starts.

You can park your car if you are coming with car and for a bicycle there is free parking next to the lake.

There are two restaurants nearby and also a small shop to get ice cream...

Heute um 17:10 Uhr dort hingefahren, da dies der See meiner Jugend ist und ich dort sehr oft und sehr gerne war. Nur was ist das? 5€ Parkgebühr nach 17:00 Uhr? Auf meine Frage bekam ich die Antwort, es werde bis 18:00 Uhr kassiert. Komisch, dass um 17:45 Uhr bei unserer Abfahrt keiner mehr dort stand. Aber es wird noch besser. Vor Ort an der Liegewiese steht nun ein Holzverschlag, mit der Aufschrift "Registrierung und Kasse". Wer sich also auf dem Gelände aufhalten möchte, muss Eintritt zahlen (3,- €), sich registrieren und bekommt dafür dann aber auch ein pinkes Bändchen ums Handgelenk. VIP stand nicht drauf, schade. Manch einer mag das für normal halten, ich nicht. Offensichtlich denken auch andere so, denn auf dem großen Parkplatz stand kein einziges Auto. Leid tut mir indes Imbiss Neumann, dessen Umsätze sicher deutlich zurückgehen. Aber was die Stadt Usingen da veranstaltet finde ich schon der Hammer, insbesondere da die Stadt seit Jahren immer unattraktiver wird. Immerhin - stringent sind sie.
