Really naming yourself The Mother, come on. This whole new look and marketing trying to be cool does not make you cool. You have now a unclear map of the tracks and still a not user friendly website, hooray! The price has gone up for the park and there is paid parking. Plus you need the exact amount in coins, if you are 10 cents over your scr#wed. Wanna pin extra for coins to pay the parking when you get your lift card at the ticket office it’s a NO. They send you to the atm machine who is out of operation then you’re forced to go to the city just to get money and it better be the exact amount of coins. People we live in 2024! Yes Yes, blaim the city council of Winterberg problem solved, right! That’s what you did. Another point of frustration, lines being closed and NO notification on your website!! This has happened now multiple times to us. A nice surprise we make almost a 10 hour round trip stay 1 ore 2 nights in Winterberg. So our visit cost time and money that’s fine but not having a surprise of multiple lines being closed. Due to the lack of communication and it might be a idea if lines are closed to reduce the price! Last but not least, the trees! Should have never have been allowed for so much to be removed! What a disappointment. Result nonstop in the sun, wind ore rain. missing the trees BIG time! It takes the feeling of speed and nature away, now it has turned in some generic mtb lines on a slope.

Part-2, response on response bikepark T.M. Appreciate the feedback, there is not a option to reply so it's a ad on to the existing text.

Sorry to hear that it is a bug thing that the trees had to go. The other points I’m not coming back on those, I told my perspective/experience do what you want with it.

A POINT I forgot the first-time: Bathroom facility is really NOT ok. A park of this size and age being unable to facilitate normal bathrooms. The bathrooms are terrible, your lucky if you’re a grown men and only have to release some yellow liquid.

Nice to have: Place to leave your water bottles would be nice and a extra bike wash place would also be nice.

Yes there is also positives...

Went here on a Wednesday at July 22. I wanted to take the ski lift with my mother to ride up to the other trails but she wasn't allowed to ride the chairlift because she didn't have a bike. So my mother (who is in her 50s) had to hike about 2 kilometers with me to the beginning of the other trails because she couldn't ride on the lift. When I arrived at the top of the trails I went to do the Continental trail which ended me in the same spot as where my mother was refused to enter. It was my first time using a chairlift so I did not know how to insert my bike into it. First time I couldn't get the bike in and the second time the lift operator walked outside to help me. When I sat down on the chair lift I did not know where to pull to lower the cross bar, and the guy was throwing all kinds of gestures and talking German even though I was talking in English. When I finally got the cross bar lowered I was already in the air. The lift operator could've stopped the lift to show me but he didn't. Then when I arrived at the station my bike literally DISMOUNTED off of the ski lift onto the ground below (which was about a 10ft/10 meter drop). Luckily the staff there was ready to intervene and helped me get my water bottle back and immediately walked down to check my bike. My bike was luckily unscathed, and no one was hurt in the process. The lift operators at the other side of the park (opposite of the bike rental place) were much nicer and helped me place my bike into the lift correctly. Those lifts were also very well made with even a practice clamp and the bars would open and close automatically. I was very insecure after that happening at the first ski lift and basically didn't want to ride there again in fear of the...

I was riding at Winterberg bikepark today 19.5.2025. To be honest, I have never ridden such badly maintained trails. Looked like they haven't been properly maintained in a while. There were branches hitting your head and handlebars, braking bumps everywhere. I get that if there is a lot of people, trails get beaten. But I have also been in many places (Morzine, Greenhill for example) where there are a lot of users and never it has been like this. The branches hitting you are the final straw, they just need cutting and then they stay good for weeks.

Trail examples:

Loose Lee: Branch hitting your face in a jump at lower part

Black line: Vegetation on the ground is obstructing visibility on the trail, just needs trimming. Also branches hitting your handlebars

Brake bumps everywhere, but those are a lot more acceptable at dry weather with a lot of riders.

We bought day tickets but literally stopped riding after 2 hours because of the poorly maintained trails. I also gave feedback at the shop next to camping area and the answer was basically "Your are wrong, the trails are in a good shape. We don't care if you don't ride here". Also tried to ask for a refund of 10euros to change the ticket for morning ticket but didn't happen.

We have been coming to Winterberg every time that we drive trough germany (coming from Finland) and have been happy before. Now I think we will just stay on Greenhill because 45e for a day ticket with these trails is...

The bikepark in Winterberg is really great and has tracks for every level. From beginners to professionals, you will find trail for all of them. On one side of the road you will find the “Schneewittchen” and “FairyTrail” which are for beginners. In the lower part there are started shaping another line which looks like a trail with smaller jumps which would be a good addition. On the other side of the road you will find the “FlowCountry”, “JolliJumper”, “JumpLine”, LooseLee”, “Northshore”, “BlackLine”, “Downhill”, “Freeride” and “RockyWaldboa”. These trails have everything you want, flowtrails, trails with big jumps, small jumps, drops, wood elements and rough surface with roots and stones. There are multiple restaurants (my personal favorite and recommendation is the “Schneewittchen Haus”) where you can get food and drinks. There is a beginners parcours where you can try things like drops and jumps and there is also a workshop where you can fix your bike. In addition you will find a specific area (that cost extra) with 2 airbags and multiple kickers which is nice for learning tricks. And there is one more thing, the sloop style area which has huge step ups, whip offs and kickers. Overall a really nice bike park 🤙🏻😁

Great downhill fun and easy way up ;) Bikes at the bike rental were perfectly dialed in on my weight resulting in awesome runs down the 12 trails they have available in 3 levels. Staff at the bike rental place was helpful and skilled. Also the single employee at the bottom of the lift, providing a helping hand for those having trouble locking their bikes in the lift. Out side the lift at the bottom you can try the clamp system on a special stand before using the one in the lift to gain experience. As said great bikes, great trails and easy way up ;) For us as a couple we payed approx €160 for 2 bikes, 2 lift passes and 2 fullface helmets. There is a €5 refund on the liftticket passes! Full face helmet is (strongly) recommended but I did saw a few people with regular and even a skateboard helmet... At the bottom of the lift you can rinse your bike, mandatory for the rentals. During our visit woman payed half price on the rentals. Trails are well marked and maintained. A couple recon runs in advance is recommended though! They’ve got restrooms at the bike rental and at the bottom lift.

They open the park when half of the trails are still closed. Quite a lot of braking bumps for opening weekend. Just feels unfair to pay full price for half the park. In general though, the park is quite fun. Its more aimed to entertain beginners so everything is built quite noob-friendly. Most lips are really mellow which is good if u wanna learn to jump. However, Im missing some challenging lines as an intermediate rider. Sure the black rated lines are fun, but I wouldnt call it gnarly in any means. Jumpline is sick tho. Would love to see a trail like that all the way to the bottom. Slopestyle area is really cool with a sick view and surprisingly not a lot of wind. Whip-off jump is one of the chillest jumps I have ever done. Props for the builders of that one. In conclusion, a fun park especially for beginners. Quite dissapointed by all the trails that were closed. Open all the trails you'll earn an additional star. Build a truly gnarly trail or make a top to bottom jumpline and 5 stars will be well earned.
