If you’re planning to see the famous pink sand – well, don’t get your hopes up too high. There isn’t really any “pink carpet” waiting for you, unless you’ve got a boat and can sail around a bit. Near the little pier you might find a couple of centimeters of pinkish grains – but honestly, they’re more like sprinkles, and you won’t even see them in photos. In the morning the beach is almost empty, and there are trees offering natural shade, perfect if you need to hide from the blazing sun. With small kids it’s an ideal spot, since the water never really gets deep – you can just let them splash around safely. Next to the beach there’s a little snack bar where you can grab something cheap to eat, plus there are showers and changing cabins. Just keep in mind: the beach is tiny – don’t expect Miami here, it’s more like a cozy backyard pool...
Read moreFantastic little beach just a short distance from Falasarna with swirls of pink sand at the shoreline. There are lots of rock formations providing shelter from strong waves and making it a good place to snorkel and ideal for young children.
Theres a tiny taverna with rooms to rent just metres from the beach and a couple more within walking distance.
Sunsets here are beautiful and we had the beach to ourselves at this time which was lovely.
Would recommend to families with young children and those who don't like crowds, as well as photography fans as it's incredibly picturesque.
There are umbrellas and sunbeds to rent and these are well occupied in summer but it still feels very quiet...
Near Falasarna I find this crossroads for Limeniskos: luckily my instinct suggests this detour. The road runs narrow between the olive trees, providing a preview of the spectacle that opens up shortly after. Wonderful and rarely visited place (compared to the beautiful but noisy Falasarna). Very small beach, well equipped but with the possibility of bringing your own equipment. The pink sand gives a touch of exotic and enhances even more this small cove where you can enjoy a crystal clear sea with shallow water for the first few meters and pools between the rocks where you can snorkel. Peace and quiet, a small shack where you can get a drink or something to eat, the Vassilis restaurant five minutes by car (amazing) or Kaptain Nikolas 3 minutes on foot (not the same level but still very good), a little freak corner (see last photo) and a perfect location to...
