Geological Museum of Naxos — Attraction in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

With a 3 euro ticket you can visit four museums here in Apiranthos: natural history, folklore, geological, visual arts. These are very small museums, but anyway quite interesting and very well explained by the people who manage them.

The geological museum hosts more than 2000 samples of rocks, minerals, fossils from Naxos and all around the world. Wow what a great place, small but really good information and informative posters in both greek and English. Lots of different displays from local, regional and international geology. The lady there was very helpful and knowledgeable about the different geology and other mineralogy in the region, and luckily spoke great English. A hidden gem...
